It's all good. Definitely family first. :) Hope England wins! Nari and I were cheering for Argentina and they lost today. Germany was rude. Going for the intentional team injuries because you're down doesn't show you can play in my book... but I'm not a ref and I was working so I missed it and could...

hehehee. I'm looking forward to this, it will be my spot of fun in the middle of all the work I have to do. :thumb: And we just got an email from the President of our organization giving us all Monday off in addition to Tuesday... so it means I have an even longer weekend to work from home. I ...

You won't need any yagudo drinks (Yagudo drinks give you MP refresh for a certain amount of time), and I can share holy water with you Anubis. I have extra already. I'll be working my connections to do what I can to pull this together. I was going to postpone and reschedule but seeing the activity h...

No worries about newbie-ness to promyvions. :) I take alot of new people through the crags, so it's usually the veterans I ask to be patient. Once we've all zoned in I always call everyone's attention and run through our instructions and the tutorial for what we're doing and what you can expect for ...

I'd be happy to count you in. :thumb: Keep me posted how close to 30 you get and what subjob you'll have for your war as that will affect the rest of the party make-up. I'll do my best to build us a successful boss squad, but these are really hard so we still lose sometimes, too. (To quote Ai Aori A...

So are you interested in that date/time at all? If it's not workable I won't be able to get anything timezone appropriate soon, but I can keep trying. And to your reply, pick-up parties for CoP are rough, because the CoP missions are very challenging. The fun part is... defeating the lower 3 promyvi...

I'm trying to take a break from heavy events, but I'll keep my eyes on this in case you need an Eri-guide. I am all out of gold beastcoins though, so the new crew will need to share/split from AH or farm them in advance. XD The last ZM4 totally tapped me out. Early next week I should know if I can c...

If I can interject, a lot of the material here is hearsay and while it's a good guideline for successful pick-up parties, for a group with a strategy the Promyvions can be relatively flexible for most jobs. There are only 2 jobs that I have taken through in the past that going forward I will request...

Didn't want you to think I have forgotten... but real life hit meltdown this week as we move into our busiest season and the rollover to a new fiscal year. I will have a date selection posted soon.. hoping next week. I need to take a few days (all this weekend in fact) offline for a breather before ...

Aw come on, Convict and I don't count as deaths and we were the only ones who died. :thumb: I would have lived if I would have kept kiting... but I was trying to save the silly NPCs by tanking the NM for them when it stopped running. Convict had to be a hero and come try to tank it for them once I d...

hehehee... I just wanted to add to all of this good info that above level 30, THF are much more than *party puller*. The official classification would be "Agression Specialist". While thieves (along with bards, rangers, samurai and a variaty of other jobs) can make excellent pullers, a thief's niche...

/comfort Pixi. me too. And yes. If the COR had not said "Why yes I can totally equal a ranger's damage output" I would have arranged things differently and more than 1 person needing Holla would have made it through. At least Hika got it. :smack: The others are people I hadn't met before but are goo...

Hmmm.. so new plan is to sacrifice Pixi on the final sprint to the spire and have a spare whm handy for the fight? :thumb: Just kidding of course! I'll get some times from Leonis, he's the hardest one for me to schedule around and let's go from there. :D I'll try to have another whm handy who needs ...

I need to look into those one of these days... I think I play too many different games. XD I've heard very good things about gamepads. At least I'm semi-ambidextrous so swapping between WASD and the arrow keys isn't as painful as it could be...it's the games that force me to mouse heavily that kill ...

I agree the interface was not intuitive to learn, but once you decide if you like the regular or condensed keyboard (if playing PC version) and get it down, it flows really smoothly after. If you can, spend you first few days in game running around and doing light exp but talking to NPCs and just ge...

I can guarantee I didn't lose any exp from my Maat fights. I fought him um... 11? *gulp* times? 6 steal - 5 melee. For the steal and all but 1 of the melee I died twice each time with a reraise in there to try again. Now... whether or not YOU will lose exp.. *shrug* But yea, that's how it was ...

Vector's strategy is more recent based upon some updates that were made, so I would go with his before Gid's. Gid has had his RDM at 75 for a long time now. XD Go go Dune Bracers!! I say try as often as you like prior to get practice. Practice makes perfect and really will help your skills improve, ...

There are also alternatives here that aren't listed in either of the two tracks. :) Buburimu Penninsula for instance is the equivelant of dunes and can be used for 10-18 exp. It used to be hugely camped until the release of the PS2 version of FFXI and now everyone seems to think Dunes is the *only* ...

I can confirm you don't lose exp when you die during the Maat fight. :) Thieves have 2 options - steal strategy and melee strategy. If going in steal strategy the theif has 2 chances to steal, but after the first chance you die and have to reraise and try again... and then win or lose you die again....

I would add to the noob guide that specific types of monsters are agressive. There are 3 types of agression - sight, sound, magic. It is very important early on to figure out which monsters *agro* (or will attack you un-provoked) and by what methods. A level one player with this figured out can safe...

My trick for Holla is RNG. I like to go in with at least 2 of them, 3 if a melee DD doesn't need the fight and lots of poison potions and holy waters to go around. It's not fool-proof, the whm still has to keep the tank alive, but if curing happens then it usually kills it quick without 2hours. We'v...
