Last year, specifically August 8th, I underwent Gastric Bypass Surgery. At my heaviest, I came in at a startling 445 lbs. That was almost a month before my surgery too! Well I have lost A LOT of weight since the surgery and I weighed myself today, and I am at 261.5 lbs. That's 183.5 lbs lost total. My goal was to get below 250 lbs and I am fast approaching that goal.
Why am I mentioning this to you all? Well to be honest, you guys are probably the only people on the internet who would care. ;p But it's quite the achievement none the less and I thought I would share.

For the Brits - That's a starting weight of 31stone, now down to 18.6 stone. That's a hell of a lot of weight lost there, Fen - well done indeed!
That deserves a party!
I've also managed to lose some, mainly thanks to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (yay for that ) - down from 18 stone to 13.5 (about 189lb). No where near as impressive as your weightloss though Fen.
New wardrobe?

Thanks folks. The well wishes are appreciated. I have had a tough road initially, but the light at the end of the tunnel certainly was worth it.

Grats Fen, must take a massive effort to achieve something like that. You should be proud, I doubt many people could achieve it.

yeah, it certainly was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. The first two weeks after surgery was absolute torture. but I am better for it regardless what some early nay sayers had to say about this whole thing.

They are very much better. I knew things were better when Pad and I went for a walk and ended up walking 2 1/2 miles. Haven't did that in ages. ;p

Congratulations man, that is VERY impressive. My buddy just got gastric bypass this week and I started the Nutrisystem program last week. Seems like it's a theme for us big guys to get fit. Keep it up!Fenavian wrote:Last year, specifically August 8th, I underwent Gastric Bypass Surgery. At my heaviest, I came in at a startling 445 lbs. That was almost a month before my surgery too!
