Neocron 2 Open Beta
Free open beta for all until it goes retail on the 29th.

-GuildWars should be a good one that we could all play together too as it'll be free to play, but that isn't out yet :p
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

I was thinking more "free" games B, you have me and Bladey so far to kick around in Doom though :)

I think I will keepthis thread updated with the cheap/free games. I would liek to avoid the "we have nothing to play as a group" thing in the future.

Solidarity ;)

NEVERON!

Come play Neveron!

www.neveron.com

Ok, I know it has a super steep learning curve, but with some recent additions, I can actually help some smaller empires (namely, open cash transfers are finally in) I can also produce a good amount of stuff, the key piece being the Striker light tank, which is a very good defensive backbone vehicle. Also, Nev just instituted a rewards policy for recruiting, so if anyone joins and uses a promo code I set up, they get a bonus, and I also get a bonus. I'm also in a fairly strong, well established faction. While my faction is full, we can list a smaller faction as being allied and under our protection. It helps to ward off the predators who like to feed on noobs. Come play! New arena systems are in, Landwar is getting better, I can produce repair bays...

Browser based fun that takes little time at the lower levels and becomes increasingly difficult as you rise. Hit me with any questions.

I think FilePlanet ran out of keys for Tribes 2 (remember that you need one to create an account).

For those that might have played the old dos game Scorched Earth, there is a revision called Scorched3d. You can get it at http://www.scorched3d.co.uk/ and it is a blast.

SSC-esd and I were playing last night on my server and it was hilarious to say the least. Nothing like getting smacked in the first round by the computer. The last game we played, esd and I shot at each other and killed each other at the same time, I am gonna try and get the screenie from him so I can post it here.

Download it, check it out, if you don't like it, cool. But if you do like it, I think it would be a blast to have a large game going. It can handle upto 16 players and the bandwidth needs of the clients are minimal to say the least.

Here is the screenshot of esd's and I's simultaneous death:

Stick Fighters 2: If anyone has played soldat this is very similar though offers team play, simpler graphics and a level editor if anyone is feeling like throwing together some devious maps.

Oh also V2000 is worth checking out for anyone who was a fan of the old Virus game by David Braben.

Since this is a sticky, Ed, can you please add/change the Freespace2open linky to the FS forums? All the info and linkage is there... :)

Else most people probably won't check the forums (I know that from experience) and search around half the internet before they find out...

Just in case anyone hasn't come across this game before thought I'd mention Soldat, a nice and sufficiently violent coffee-break shooter.

http://www.soldat.prv.pl/

There are loads of mods out for it now, I personally recommend the Counterstrike mod. If anyone gets into it I'm usually always up for a game so give us a shout.
