And I am already sold!

I noticed a mention of refund of donations if the game doesn't release (if you donate via the site portal's link)? Or was I just reading some far fetched rumor?

I got a golden ticket :D Don't know what that means for the game in the end.

Please note this now is also raising funds via Kickstarter.

As a fan of the original Wing Commander series I am seriously considering donating.

Yeah, I pulled the trigger on this after it went up on Kickstarter. I know Double Fine is doing an amazing job with documenting the development process for the backers. I hope Roberts provides frequent updates as well. This game is incredibly ambitious, but so was Privateer in its day. Freelancer remains one of my all-time favorites. I hope this can deliver on at least some of the key ideas, lest it end up like Spore or Battlecruiser.

Yep, pledged for the Digital Scout. I wonder why anyone would get the regular Scout package as that one doesn't include Alpha... Maybe they didn't notice the difference?

I think the "Citizen Cards" allow you to gift your copy of the game to someone else, to be redeemed upon release. So maybe they did it with a nod to Christmas in mind.

No fear about this going forward, according to their website they have in excess of $3million.

Haven't backed it, but I'm watching closely. Glad it got funded :)

These games all seem so far off right now though heh...

If you're a fan of space sims then I would say you absolutely must back this project! The $2 million goal was only for a 30-mission single player WC-esque campaign. They're set to reach $3.6 million today, and if they can reach $4 million in these last 4-5 days, they will expand the size of the open world game to match Freelancer (50 systems), add 2 new ships (for total 12), bring the campaign to 45 missions, and create professional modding tools.

I would encourage you to pledge on the Kickstarter at this stage, as there are smaller bonus stretch goals for the Kickstarter total.

Yeah I was really shocked at the massive spike of $2.5 in the last 48 hours or so. Totally mindblowing. It's good to know that they should be able to get all the money they need to make a quality product. I just hope it isn't money wasted. I'll be sure to be an active critic in the alpha next year.

Hope you mean $2.5m

Seriously though, I hope it succeeds. I have yet to be completely convinced though.
