Ah, another Hayate liker.

Not many people dig that one, you have to be pretty in-the-know to get all the jokes.

Yeah I only get about 5-10% of the jokes when they reference other anime, etc. I don't think it really detracts from it too much though.

I can also understand why some might not like it. There's definitely more comedy than substance to the storyline. I guess I like it because it's different :).

Yeah, quite a bit of the comedy deals with breaking the fourth wall as well, which is hard for some to get proper.

I like it quite a bit too, mostly because it's different.

Ok, guess it's about time for me to put my list of favs up... in no particular order...

Bleach
Inuyasha
My Hime
Steel Angel Kurumi - note, this is just a really cute silly anime (think sitcom)
Shana No Shana
Naruto Shippuden
Tenjou Tengi
Speed Grapher
Vampire Knight - finished first season, really good so far and hopeful of the rest of the series
Blade of the Immortal - haven't finished but has a good story and lots of potential so far, waiting on another group to pick this up and sub the rest so I can continue with it.

Yeah I need to sort this thread out.

It would only take me 15 minutes, and it'd be super up to date. I had the idea like 2 years ago, and then for some reason forgot to do anything with it.

Guess I could post up the stuff that I've seen and enjoyed so far.

Patlabor 1 & 2
Armitage III
Appleseed - The Original, not the remakes
Escaflowne - The Movie
Ghost in the Shell
Akira
Starblazers
Captain Harlock
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
My Neighbor Totoro
Castle in the Sky
Howl's Moving Castle
Porco Rosso
Grave of the Fireflies
Macross
Robotech - all three series
Berserk
Ninja Scroll
Fist of the North Star
Serial Experiment Lain
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Perfect Blue
GoldenBoy
Vampire Hunter D
Battle Angel Alita
Guyver
Gasaraki
Wicked City
Golgo 13
Final Fantasy - Spirits Within
Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children
Blood the Last Vampire
Last eXile

And that should be a good start. I could go on and on if I took the time to remember everything I've ever watched. A lot of it is older stuff though.

Realising that this is out of date already, rather than spending ages updating my list again I figured it'd just be easier to link my anime-tracker-list. I update it whenever I watch anything, and give everything I've watched final ratings.

http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Lordanubis

Much easier than manually updating one post including ranking etc. Anyone else, MS and Ava aside, using such a system?

I used to keep a list at AniDB.net up to date with what I've watched and was looking forward to. Haven't felt like refreshing it in quite some time now, though.

Hey Cyma. Great to see you here bud ;D

Already planning to watch a few anime on your list like Gantz but I've never heard of Gilgamesh until now. Just had a read of that on MAL and it sounds very interesting I must admit. Looks like Pad is the only other person to mention that show on the forums.
Will add that to my plan to watch list! ^^

Ah no worries on that front. Monster was very slow paced too especially in the beginning but that turned out to be one of the best shows I've ever seen, and my favourite anime hehe. In the case of that show it only benefited it. :)

Thought I'd post this in here rather than start a thread for it:

- Gankutsuou
I've mentioned Gankutsuou on IRC a few times whilst I've been watching it but this, as expected, turned out to be one of my favourite shows in a while. I've seen many other 9 & 10/10 rated shows since I last posted but some of them (like the Kenshin OVAs and Mushishi for example) are some of the best anime I've seen to date but have ofc already been recommended and seen by others before me. Gankutsuou on the other hand nobody else has posted about going by my search results.
Fantastic show. Quite a slow pace (not a negative way) and there are 1 or 2 bits which felt a tiny bit out of place at times but I loved every single minute of it. The guy who did this also directed the third Evangelion rebuild movie it seems so I shall look forward to seeing that even more now ^^ :thumb:

Here's a few other recommendations off the top of my head which nobody else has mentioned on here before too:

These two are from the awesome Takahiro Omori (director of Natsume Yuujinchou, Baccano & Durarara)
- Hotarubi no Mori e - Beautiful short movie. The original creator of this was also the original creator behind Natsume which he adapted to anime too, they're quite similar too. Natsume is a must watch too though I've already recommended that several times before today heh.
- Kuragehime - Gave this a 9 rather than 10/10 like I did the one above but I thought it was really fun all the same and pretty unique. Natsume, Hotarubi no Mori e and Kuragehime and all very different from Baccano & Durarara but Omori is such a talented guy, I tend to love everything he works on.

and
- Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - Really great show and an extremely popular one too however nobody has posted or recommended it here before it seems, unless I was the only one who liked it lol?. - Gen Urobuchi was behind this who is currently working on Psycho-Pass as I've mentioned before, incidentally the best show of the Autumn season by far (imo) and shaping up very nicely indeed. He is also the original creator of Zate/Zero.

Anyone else got any shows or movies you'd recommend which haven't been posted on the forum before and already recommended by someone else? Just ones which you'd rate extremely highly (being 9 or 10 out of 10)?
Still got many things waiting to watch but I'm always looking for new things to check out :)
