I am creating this post solely for the purpose of maintaining a list of current guidelines for different areas of WoW that the Mannoroth group has voted to follow. Previously these were posted in separate posts, some of which have sat in the announcements/sticky sections individually, others which have over time dropped further down the forums list. This posting will be locked for replies due to the fact that it will be added to and edited as we come up with new guidelines or have reason to edit the old ones. Each reply listed will be a separate section for ease of finding for later reference. For changes to these if there is already a section available it would be appreciated if the moderator making the changes edits to place the item in the appropriate section. This will be an ongoing work in progress as I get time to move everything over and get it all formatted. As I get one area from stickies, I will change the posting type to normal. Assistance of our other moderators in getting the data copied over from other postings would be greatly appreciated.

Becomming a Member:

Becoming a member of SSX-Mannoroth is not something that is taken lightly. It takes a certain type of person to become part of the family, as this is a very close group of people. It takes no special equipment or level, but it does take a lot of heart. Having heart for your fellow guildies as well as people in general is the absolute strongest consideration for becomming a member of SSX-Mannoroth. In the hopes of maintaining the closeness that has always been in this group, several standards have been decided on to ensure we get to know each person as an individual in order to ensure they make a good fit for the family.

In order to become an initiate you must get to know at least 1 full SSX member fairly well and they must ask that you be invited into the guild.

There will be a maximum of 5 initiates allowed into the guild at any given time. There is a potential for rare exceptions to be made for special cases but this will have to be voted on to allow for an exception and will only be on very special cases.

Votes to promote people from initiate to member status will be held weekly and be voted on by all SSX-Mannoroth members.

A person must be an initiate for at least 2 weeks before a vote is taken to possibly promote them to member status.

A minimum of 75% of the meeting must vote yes to promote an initiate to member status and there must be no negative votes. People abstaining from the vote are counted as neutral, neither positive or negative.

If there is even one negative vote, a primary and secondary officer will be assigned at that time to mediate between the two and try to come to a resolution to whatever the issue is.

If 50% or more of the members voting have negative votes, remediation will not be attempted and they will be removed from the guild.

Instances where one person keeps saying no and everyone else says yes will have to be dealt with on a case by case basis depending on the situation. There are too many variables to set a standard for this happening.

An initiate will go through a maximum of 4 votes before something has to be determined. This will be dealt with on a case by case basis looking at why their vote keeps getting pushed forward, but something has to be decided at this point.

There must be a minimum of 7 members present at a meeting before a vote can be taken, with at least 3 of those members having to be officers.
If someone has voiced a concern against an initiate, they must be present as well or have someone knowing their current vote status for that particular initiate to be voted on.

General
General guidelines at any stage of any level are to be kind to your fellow group mates, help where you can, and have fun.

Members
Now that youve gone through the recruiting process and become part of the WoW Mannoroth family youre likely wondering what is expected of an SSX member. This group runs almost entirely off of its membership. All decisions and discussions are voted on during weekly Saturday afternoons. Aside from playing the game with everyone, these meetings are one of the most important things you can come to. They determine the fate of all new recruits, make changes to the way we handle things etc. While not required to be a member, it is highly recommended to attend as many of these meetings as you are able to, and active attendance is one requirement to being considered fully active and being placed into Veteran status. The other requirement for Active/Veteran status is to participate in forum discussions so you can be up to date on guild happenings. You may be thinking youre participating now by reading this post, however it wont be seen if you dont post or reply yourself once in a while, thats the only manner we have to see who is reading these and participating. These forums are where all events we schedule will be posted when they are decided on, and the only place it will be posted. They are also where many meeting topics start and develop to make the meetings go by a lot faster. The third and final portion of obtaining veteran status by your name is to take part in events in the game. This has a lot of areas and some arent available to everyone yet due to levels, etc. Just participate in what you can and join in on the general guild/vent chit-chat, start a group doing something you can do if there are others in the same shoes.

Veterans
So, youre participating in the game and having fun with everyone, you have veteran status, is there anything else you should be doing? The answer is most definitely. There is always a lot of work to be done to keep the group running smoothly and chances are there is something around to do. When you can, see what the current targets are and what you can do to help. This is above the standard helping guildies that is expected of every single ssx member though, this delves into helping your officers too. This may be organizing the raids one night, helping rally people to help collect items needed for a raid, or telling two people fighting in gchat or vent to take it offline and letting an officer know what happened. Take a look around and just do what you can. Each person doing these things helps ensure we dont end up with a select group taking on the world of problems and ending up so stressed they quit the game entirely. Dont think its that stressful? Ask Magdalena for the guild stress test, see how it goes.

Officers
Youve gone through it all and have now taken on the responsibilities of an officer, are you crazy? Well, youve likely just taken in a lot more than you realized but heres the basics
Youre expected to be a leader in the group, help organize events, lead the meetings, lead raids, keep up current information on the forums. If you havent already done so, your name should be added to the forum moderators. Also youre expected to moderate inner guild issues and concerns that may arise. All in all, keep the group a fun environment people enjoy being part of and keep everything running.
Fair warning to all, this can become a very stressful position. You may find it necessary from time to time to step down for a little bit and take a break from these responsibilities, there wont be many out there that dont understand this, trust me
