The POS...Personally Owned Stations. These stations can do a few things. Some stations you can use to process ores. A station like this is ussually placed somewhere that doesnt have a station one can travel to. Within a couple of jumps, There are moon mining POS. These actually mine a moons minerals. There are so many moons scattered througout Eve finding a place that has a mineral you want is the key. There are also Sttation used to build ships. The large capital ships cant be built in a regular station. ATM i think a POS can only be placed in a security of .3 and lower .2, .1, 0.0 These areas can have hostile players so you have to watch yourselves.

When trying to find a moon to harvest from its best to work in pairs. One person uses a shuttle the other uses a Large hauler equipted with a missle launcher. We use a Discover probe and lunch it at the moon to find out what the moon has to offer. The reason a shuttle is used is because when you wrp in to a moon there is a possibility that when you warp in..... there might be a POS already there. A POS can be set up to fire (If weapons are set up) on any one or people with security rating you choose. So its better to risk a Shuttle rather than a costly ship. The shuttle warps in and gives the all clear to the surveyor. He moves on in his shuttle and Surveyor is clear to jump in and launch a probe. Wait for the all clear from suttle then on to next moon. Scan ussually start appearing 2-3 minutes after a launch. You will need to either screen shot the info or enter it in to notepad with System and Moon number.

A POS can be a very nice money maker if one is willing to service it.

Yes, a POS needs fuel most times one can find a fuel supplier and aquire a contract. You will set up cost for the fuel and a drop off point. No sence in advertising where your money maker is located at.

Haulers will be needed for not only fuel but to empty the silos. The moon harvesting process is automatic. We uses a reactor....which with a simple or complex reaction installed can turn your moon minerals in to an Advance mineral. These are sold on the market. Some in large quanities others in small hard to find quanities. So its supply and demand. Cheap to Expensive.

A POS does have a shield... wich you can see. Some players will park thier hauling ship within the force field and log off the game. As long as the shileds are up... your ship is safe.

On a side note.... there are pirates that will threaten your POS. They will demand payment for allowing your POS to remain in that system. If one is to tell them to..... Lets say Bite me. They mign either have some Very large powerful ships that could... yes could take down a POSs shields and the POS could be destroyed. Some times paying the pirates can also ensure your safe travels through their space while you are loaded with the fruits of your labor. Nothing worse than getting blown up and losing a load of cargo. Some time safety in nubmbers is wise. Escorts can be used to help you travel.

There is alot more info which can be touched on. but, i think thats a good start. :)

I have a hauler and was set up to do so, but of course crap happend. SO I can start up doing so here. Though in all honesty people doing the hauling should get a little bit of the profits. I wasn't keen on the idea of wasting 4 hours and not even getting a little bit for it.. Sure all the cash went to the Corp wallet and the Corp of course needs the funds and such but there definatly needs to be incentive for folks to keep a POS running.

POSs' can be labour intensive but they make a load of ISK
whilst your mainly off doing other things.

An alt can easily manage day to day affairs.

As it has been noted, hauling to and from your POSs'
can be a major pain in the neck, especially if left to one individual.
I found a freighter invaluable, as it only meant hauling 2 - 3 jumps
before the freighter could take over.

Okay just to give you an idea of the sort of ISK you can make.

Running 4 POSs' generating per week
900k Fullerides @ 400 isk per unit = 360 million
3.5 million Titanium Carbide @ 80 isk per unit = 280 million
Total = 640 million
Fuel cost for one week including any intermediates approx 200 million.
Thats a profit of 440 million isk per week and I was using low end
market values.

It was a pain to manage but the corp benefitted ISK wise.

Thats some nice figures. Do we have the means to set up multiple POS's?

We might have the means to put up multiplle POSs... But we dont have the man power yet to man multiples.

I think your figures are a little off on those. Takes nearly 50 mil per week just to fuel a large tower plus intermediates. Might be 50 per with if you can get a good contract on supplies. But as for the manpower and ability to setup, takes nearly 600M just to get a tower up and running plus resource stash adds more to the price. But yes, the PoS operations are major isk machines as long as the market holds out. :thumb:
