Have you guys seen the exact restrictions?
I'm not a BioWare hater but I just had to post this as it's absolutely ridiculous.

This is a list of some of the restrictions a F2P player has:
  • Character creation race restructions
  • General Chat/Trade/PvP limited to one message every minute (shared timer)
  • No trading with other players
  • Can not send mail
  • 2hr cooldown on Quick Travel
  • No access to emergency fleet pass
  • No access to cargo hold
  • No access to Guild Bank
  • Cannot expand inventory tabs
  • No rest XP
  • Cannot equip purple/artifact quality gear
  • Only one quickbar with 12 abilities
  • No unify color option
  • No hide head slot option
  • No title or legacy name displayed
  • Credits capped at 200k
  • Only two active sale slots on the GTN
  • Only 1 crew skill allowed
  • Can only deploy 3 companions
  • Increased prices for PvP & Flashpoint gear
  • Limited to 3 warzones per week
  • Limited to 3 flashpoints per week
  • No access to Operations
Oh and there's more. I just picked the worst, which was pretty much the majority of the list.
BioWare must be <censored> insane to think all of those restrictions are a good idea for a F2P option when there are other titles out there like Guild Wars 2 which already offers more than TOR's paid subscription. I can't even see this being worth it for the most casual type of gamer tbh, just not worth bothering with.

Needless to say there's no way I'd ever go back as a F2P customer now, such a shame :shake:

Have to admit the only one that would bother me would be 2 hour cooldown on Quick Travel

It's a moot point for me though, as after the forced character transfer/tampering I will not be going back. Actually quite tempted to reinstall NC2 lately instead.

Honestly none of this surprises me. They are attempting to lure people in then they will hit them with the "you want a "true" experience.. fork over some money...." Even with all this information available, people really won't find/read it and as a result will fall for the ploy. Each time I read something like this, it makes me glad that I canceled when I did.

You can just tell from looking at the list and how severe some of those restrictions are that they've done this begrudgingly heh. It's like they're not even trying to make their F2P model look particularly attractive to people, especially when you compare it to what other games offer for free too.
I wouldn't be surprised if the list gets somewhat revised before finally being implemented on the live servers as some of that stuff is just retarded tbh but who knows. If they go forward with that exact list they're not doing themselves any favours.
