These are all looking really great :) When I get my new PC later this year, might try to do some streaming of this on Twitch! Definitely pretty enough!

Kudos MS - keep these coming ^^

I won't make a habit of posting after each update otherwise it'll be spam city in here lol, but I've just added a few webm's from yesterday too! :thumb:

What you should do is select a few clips, a few highlights.

Conjoin them together. Put in some fade transition between them.

Then youtube. One video, one session, highlights, just like what .webm's are.

Not too costly for the bandwidth, just right.

You can start by amalgamating the ones you've already turned into .webm's and replacing them with a youtube video.

Oh and by the way - when in third person death mode observer - you can actually move the camera. Try it with the mouse. I can move it by moving my head because of TrackIR, but the mouse should be able to do the same. That way you can get good angles of the action. (edit: you seem to have figured it out in some of the vids at least)

Yep. I'm not sure if I've been accidentally pressing something before but the camera has sometimes remained attached to the ship in its cinematic view and it hasn't wanted to "free" when I've tried it every time. It was working for me in the last games though so I made use of it for some screenshots and picked a few webm's out from it too (Wed).

Going to try some YouTube stuff for our next game(s) :)

There are two buttons for camera work right? One that switches the camera modes from first to third person etc., but then another that detaches the camera from the model? So that you can move it around the ship, instead of the ship moving and the camera being fixed.

Also, again I suggest you do the youtube of these matches because you already have the clips. Just figure out how to transition between them seamlessly and have a test-run at putting them up. That way everything can be on youtube, and our channel can have a bunch of videos related to this. The more the better, if properly tagged for youtube.

My process has been to record the full game, watch it back and note down times, extract each individual clip I want, convert to webm, upload.
When the webm's are done uploading I delete those individual clips and my notes. I still have the original full recordings (nearly 100GB already) but that would mean going over the footage a second time and pulling shit out again before I can begin stitching them all together for a YouTube vid. Figured I'd start with our next game instead :)

Just use the .webm's? Download those and compile?

M-Steiner IRC wrote:00:44 @M-Steiner • Got a Star Citizen vid uploading to our YouTube page btw.
00:46 @M-Steiner • I've decided to upload tonights first game in its entirety. We did have some issues in that game like Kahn having friendly targets but it was better than the second game and I played better too.
00:48 @M-Steiner • Figured rather than picking my own selections out of it, if I upload the full thing you'll get a better idea of how I'm playing and what I still need to work on (other than the obvious :p)
Just taken 4hrs 15mins to upload. I've added it above but it's got another 10-15mins to process.

As for previous vids... I suppose I could save all of those webm's to my HD and fit them all together into a vid for YouTube but those files are going to have gone through so much compression by the end that they'll probably look like crap. Honestly though? If we're still playing games on a regular basis there will be lots more, better YouTube vids to come and we haven't seen the release of other modules yet. Doubt we'll miss having a highlights vid of those 6 days when all is said and done, and we've still got the webm's from them :) [Edit: I'll try downloading and compiling the webm's today and see what the quality is like. Will upload later if it's watchable)

Anyhow, bedtime as it's now 5:15am lol. I will be sure to record & upload our first 4 player game when Anny (hopefully) joins us this weekend too! :thumb:

[Edit: btw. My browser seems to crash a lot when editing the first post. Is that fixable? or just cos there are 50+ webm's hidden behind spoiler tags?]

Strange you thought the first game was better. We actually won the second one.

Renamed the thread slightly so from now on I'll drop all of our SC vids in here and not just the vanduul swarm ones. Also thought that rather than posting every time I add a new vid (which would spam the hell out of the thread), and without you guys having to keep checking to see what's new, I'd add "last updated" into the title too so you can see from that :)

Whilst I'm here though I've just added a video I recorded yesterday of me flying both the 300i and M50. I'll try taking on the harder race tracks when I'm a little better!
You can find the video above under the "our other videos" section :thumb:

Got 1 more of the 4 multiplayer races I'd recorded left to upload btw, which happens to be my favourite of the bunch. It's on Defford Link - the longest and hardest race track. Expect a few crashes lol :D

Also from this point on our SC vids will be using an updated version of the intro which BD got a sneak at last night, "MP OLD VANDERVAL - M50 (21/2/15 | RACE 2)" is the first to use it :thumb: [Edit: Correction. The vids after these last two races will be the same new intro except with different audio and also have a new outro too. The next vid to start that will be Devs vs Community #2]
Oh btw, if you guys can help out by liking some of these vids every now and then that'd be great. It's just a button press and I'm pretty sure it affects search rankings. Should help us get noticed more!

That is some great playing on the devs2 video.

I mean you have rookie moves, but that's to be expected. Other than that, way better playing than I imagined, especially considering you haven't used strafing.

Good show.

Thanks ^^ :thumb:
I expect the strafing will take me the longest to master as if you mix that in with everything else it's a little like trying to pat your head whilst rubbing your stomach. To say this game is a first for me I'm glad that I'm not completely sucking right now though heh. Will keep at it!

Well, you certainly did focus on the weakest one flying the Cutlass. He was kind of easy prey, but it's good game sense for you to be able to smell the blood and go after him. I didn't see anyone else in that game figure that out.

Of course, the Mustang with Omnisky's was a pain.

Good work.

Just added a vid of our first 4 player vanduul swarm match from Tuesday night (with BD, Rah, Chaos & myself). I uploaded it in 1080p since it was our first so you can imagine how long that took on my net lol. Hopefully worth it though :)
(Our SSC intro now displays the url for our Star Citizen org as well so if you have the old version downloaded you can get the updated version here.)
