My only peev is that the Exiles text blends too much with the rest of the logo - Kinda gives off the image that we're Exiles as in we lurk in the shadows rather than being independant.
Any chance of seeing the logo used in the header currently, except with the text body being white? (Keep the blur effects or add a touch of light effect if possible
)

To what degree should we associate ourselves with what once was? is a really good question.
On one hand Messiah is dead on: The shattered star is our history and the reason we are here.
But the heart of the SSC and what it once stood for is here now, what is left behind is the name only..... and altho 'active', it is a spiritless and soulless shadow of its former self.... for the regime that is left, is but the husk that now misrepresents/disrespects all that it once stood for...
So to what degree, should the continued mocking vile shadow of what it is now, represent who WE are?
I am not suggesting droping anything and we are who WE are (not them), but I think it is still valid question to reflect on.

I like what BD said about change. To make short what I was talking about in IRC:
Shattered Star = 5 pieces. 1 piece for each ideal.
My design is simple. We have one ideal: friendship. We should have a solid star. Also, shattered sort of implies that we are divided, and thats not good. So, what do you guys think?

As far as I'm concerned, we were, and we remained good friends. But we were also a plethora of negative things until a new system took place. I'd like us to honor the new system, that bears less flaws than the original.
When I look around, we didn't really take anything from that place aside from our friendships. The name lingers on, and doesn't mean what it once has. Frankly, in past and in present, it didn't mean what we are. That's why I believe it should go.

The name is still part of us, there are still things I am VERY proud of associated with that name. And I am much less inclined to abandon it entirely. At least not today. I don;t want to dwell on it, but I still am personally invested in the "Shattered Star" as a concept. The original symbology might be no longer applicable, but there was a reason I persisted as a member for the 5 or 6 or however many years it was.
We represent the good parts, in our opinion, of what it was. Keeping the name around serves to remind us not to repeat those bad parts ever again. Dwelling on it is one thing, and not healthy, but ridding ourselves of it entirely is a disservice to why we left. We believed we were "better" and "right." We chose this path.
We have a bright future. We are playing games and having fun. I think what we have is good, it works, people enjoy it. It has a ring to it.
It's not broke, no need to rush to fix it.

I personally don't like the new banner. Too much emphasis on the "exiles" and the white streaks and font don't look that good to me. I would like to see somethin bringing "friendship" to the forefront rather than our SSX title.
(I also don't like the star but I can't change that.. I can still complain though ;p )
