It's damn well hidden. Nearly lost a member coz they couldn't find it. Any chance of making it a button that actually says "Register" or something equally simple?

Had the same problem once when recruiting in Neocron, a while ago now though. A button which says register would be good yes. :thumb:

Also a button which actually changes to tell you when you have a PM would be useful too.

Ahh. I remember I had to search around for quite some time to find that link when I was directed here initially.

I had to mouse-over buttons and look at the target addresses in the bottom bar of IE until I spotted a URL with "register.php" in it. It took all of fifteen seconds......but......ummm......was irritating.

Incidentally, I've been wondering how much it really means when I call something irritating. Can I stop saying it? Is it taken for granted yet?

I do, however, agree that more intuitive login/logout and registration buttons would be nice.

It's not exactly a coding issue. We just need some new buttons, then swap the images out.

Didn't take me that long to find it, I just took the mouse pointer and just highlighted over the pictures at the top. Simple :p
Anywho, probably just replace the pictures and place the actual text to join, logout, and forum index.

It's part of the stylesheet, which I believe expects those buttons to be that size.

KJ would know. Or Fahd.

Actually that's half true. You can make the buttons any size you want.

Clearer register logo (if anyone can think one up ;)), or just a button with the word: register? If we go down the word route, I'd probably have to change the other two buttons so they'd fit in.

--edit--

Oh yeah I kinda got distracted by some Morrowind mods :p

Could always just make it flash... that way when anyone says "where's the register button" we can say "It's the BIG FLASHING ONE AT THE BLOODY TOP!"

Subtle, no?
