Much prefer that accounts be disabled or locked rather than wholesale deleted.

Lets us track and is easier to undo.

Seems too late in the case of Athl10N but for future reference :)

Whatever is more practical, I'm for it.

Hopefully we won't need to ban anymore guests. :)

The lone and level sands stretch far away.

I agree with lock/disable.

It just makes more sense ;)

The deleting of the account was not intentional. I went to the screen with the original idea of deleting the account, even marked the checkbox.. But then I saw the account active select, and was like, wait I will just disable it.. But alas, I didn't think about the fact I had enabled the delete button. and boom. The account was gone.

Accounts should be closed not deleted. It was a momentary lapse on my part.

No foul. If the guy was being a jerk about it especially. If he wants to come back, I'd expect an apology from him.

I've found on forums Ive been in charge of that it is better to keep the account so that you can (1) can remember the offender and (2) keep the ip address for future reference.

A special banned usergroup could be used. Once the forum gains attention from searchbots and googlebots the risk of getting unwanted visitors increases.
