Look at the latest 10 or so on there. The vast majority of them seem to be bots or advertisers. We need to sort something in regards to maybe adding an extra option to account registration that is mandatory, or (if there's no other option) turn accounts to admin approval for a while :blank:

Idd, if we're gonna have younger members viewing the boards as well we especially don't want stuff like that displayed in profiles for them to see, even i don't wanna see that filth. Can someone edit the stuff out of that particular profile mebbe, if not delete it? :)

I'll edit the stuff out of them individually in a few until we find out whether Ed wants them deleted when he gets back.

None of them (I believe) are actually active, fyi. They can't do anything with the registration.

And there is a mandatory confirmation step already.

There is very very little we can do about bots attempting to register, other than clean them out now and again. Which will happen when I cull member lists with 0 posts. So keep an eye out, and if you care, delete them now and again. I suppose we could bribe Fahd to add a step before they generate the confirmation email.

Ive edited out all the websites/sigs etc of the advertising bots within the last 10 recent registrations. After seeing some of them MS was right, we really dont want stuff like that here even if the account isn't active. But yeah, they advertise nothing now :blank:

Just edited another porn-oriented one as pointed out by MS (also edited the account name to Bot01 as that was just as bad as the link being advertised T_T) I've also noticed when cleaning up these accounts that quite a few of them are coming from ... @cashette.com, so I've banned that e-mail extension for now, lets see if that thins out the number of them registering atm. We seem to have been having a lot lately.

For obvious bots you can delete the posts, or archive them and I will delete them.

Since they seem to be getting through again, if people leave the accounts intact for a few days I will have another look through to see if they're using common e-mail addresses like the last 2 lots were that I can add to the banlist. Do what you like with the posts, just leave the accounts. I'll delete them when I'm done...
