Ishgard Restoration [Omega]

Thought it'd be nice to document our building progress of the Firmament district in Ishgard on Omega. Should be quite interesting to see how the area develops over time I think!
PHASE ONE BEGINNING [12/11/19]
PHASE ONE COMPLETED [17/11/19]
Isi and I were there this morning (06:41!) for the final concerted works of phase one, which is now complete. Crafted works can still be handed in to the collectable appraiser for scrips & exp but building work is now paused until phase two is patched in. Hopefully the devs will put some population measures in place going forward so that too many people don't end up being locked out of the Firmament unless they get there in advance (whilst also opening up the world visit again). Fingers crossed!
Love dynamic events like this. Roll on phase 2 ^^
(Bought my gorilla mount last night with my first bunch of scrips but haven't taken him out just yet. Will post a pic of him later today once I've taken one!)

WTF that mount is crazy
Thanks for posting this bud! I won't be seeing much of it I think, so it's good to be able to follow and see what's going on! Glad you and Isi are enjoying!

The restoration of Ishgard will continue in just under 2 weeks - Patch 5.2 has just been given a date for 18th Feb!
Planning to get stuck into this again (but with my gatherer(s) this time) so will try & take some progress pics again for phase 2

Awesome look forward to seeing the progress. Has Spriggan even finished the first phase yet?

Haha, yep. Spriggan managed to complete theirs maybe 5 or 6 days after us so they got there in the end! I expect phase 2 will take much longer unless they've got some new world visit measures in place to start allowing that again.

I'm letting my sub lapse for a while as of the end of the week, just so you guys know.
I've not really been playing much anyway since reaching the end of Shadowbringers, and with all the stuff coming out in the next few months I know I wouldn't really be getting back to it anytime soon!
Think I'll probably re-sub come Autumn/Winter when releases have calmed down a bit

FFVIIR, TLOU2 etc will be out of the way by then but don't forget it'll be towards the end of this year when we get next-gen consoles and whatever games are releasing on those (and PC?) so it may not have calmed down
that much heh
No worries though bud, glad to hear it's only a temporary leave!
Let us know when you decide to renew your sub and we (Isi too if he's subbed) can hopefully get together again to do some unsynched duties like we planned. Has been a while!
I'll be dipping in & out to play new releases like I usually do and may take an odd break here and there but I renewed mine this week so I'll have an active sub for a good while yet (end of August infact). 5.21 releases on Tue so I'll be getting stuck into phase 2 of this Ishgard restoration (I thought that continued with 5.2 but nope, tis this week), whilst juggling my time with the new Ori game which also comes out this week.

Thought you guys might like an update on this
Phase 2 has so far involved clearing a path from the main area over to a new central square like area.
We've had 2 concerted works so far which involved clearing away rubble along this path (starting at the bottom of the stairs behind the Skybuilders' Board) and transporting big crates of that stuff back to the wagons in the main area:
The path & square it leads to
Also in 5.21 is the Diadem where mats are gathered for crafting the items used in this phase of the restoration process:
Last but not least we have the Kupo of Fortune. Basically, when crafting phase 2 items for the level bracket you're in you will receive a Kupo stamp. Once you have 5 stamps you can turn those in for a card:
The hexagon on the left will always give you one of the prizes from 2-4 but if you want a chance at getting the #1 prize you need to go with the 3 on the right where a 5th consolation prize is thrown into the mix as well.
Here are some of the prizes I've got from it:
Very much enjoying this patch anyway! Will update again soon with more progress!

Nice to have a new area opened up, still looks like theres lots more work to be done though. Did they keep the restrictions in place for this one?
Also want to check out the Diadem since I just missed out before its removal although it seems the original combat orientated nature of it has been removed. Are the nodes in it purely for Restoration now or does it still contain standard nodes as well? I had planned to go before because it offered some of the rare nodes that were on timers elsewhere as standard nodes.
The Parasol certainly completes that look as well

Aye, still lots to be done by the looks of it. I expect phase 2 will end with the completion of this square area, maybe building a fountain or something in the middle of it? Then we'll have to wait for 5.3 for phase 3 etc I guess. I'll be honest, I haven't personally checked to see if the world visit restrictions are still in place but I haven't noticed any "wanderers" in ours so I think they must be.
Scrips wise, the new expert recipes at lvl 80 can give up to 76 for max collectibility and you still have 500 per the concerted works of your own server, plus you can ofc get them from gathering now too - some fish look to give up to 50 for example. Still not as easy to amass scrips as it was when we were getting 500 a pop on each server admittedly (though that was a little
too good to be fair lol), but it doesn't feel quite as much of a grind as it was in phase 1 after they put those restrictions in place. Unless you want to go for the Pteranodon mount that requires 500,000 points towards your skyward score as every DoH/L... Don't think I'll be doing
that grind lol.
Nodes in the Diadem are also just for the resources used in the restoration too, yep. Some of those are going for good money atm (or were) for those who aren't fussed about crafting with them. I've started levelling my other crafters now but I must've made 4-5m from them when I was selling rather than using. Working towards getting all of my crafters to lvl 80 atm then I'll go back to gathering in there I think
(There's a black parasol which you can buy for scrips too but I've not bought that one yet. The sky blue one I have in the picture being a Kupo prize. The outfit I'm wearing actually comes with a bobble hat but you get the crown as an achievement reward for claiming first prize 5 times)

Only just catching up with these pics - niiiice dude
And as usual the pics are stunning as always haha - love that beach fishing shot!
How did you manage to get top 100 with the restoration?! That's some effort! Congrats!

Thankfully the rankings are split up into each DoH & DoL job so you've got the top 100 carpenter's, top 100 miner's etc which certainly helps lol. I came 26th for fishing
Not sure when the season 2 rankings start (maybe 5.3?) but I may try and top that next season if it doesn't start when I'm busy playing FFVIIR or whatever. Will see ^^

In and amongst the restoration process: 3 blessed tools for MIN/BTN/FSH unlocked & all DoH/DoL jobs to 80. Think I'm ready to take a break with FFVIIR/RE3R now haha
(Will have another Ishgard update soon!)

Nice! You certainly blasted through that, now you just need to go catch a nepto dragon and I think you have beaten FF14.

Damnit Isi, we didn't want him to actually complete the game

We need to start setting more unrealistic targets.
Complete the slice is right 100 times.
