Funnily enough, that Call of the Sea art is some of the prettiest I've seen in a while.

Prods me to look at more indie style games more - I still have Ori to play after all, which is meant to be stunning to look at!

Big fan of the Ori games! and yep, they're easily two of the most beautiful games I've played :D

You haven't asked for any but if you want some other indie recommendations to add to your Steam wishlist or whatever, give these a look bud:

Bound to be something there you like the look of! I can highly recommend all of those ;)

I think it's fair to see that by the standard of those, the machine is money well spent :D

Lovely little game with one of my favourite implementations of ray-tracing to date I'd say.

It's far from a me game, but I have to admit that those screenshots look visually really impressive. Shows how far graphics have come.

Big thanks for recommending this one, Anny! Had it sitting in my backlog for quite some time but better late than never! Would definitely make it into my list of point & click favourites :)

Glad you liked it bud! :D

I was surprised by how good it was when I played it! Didn't see the twist coming at all! Been so long since I played a serious point and click too.

After that and Technobabylon I'm really excited to see what they do next!

Loving this (wish it had a photo mode!) but at the same time finding it rather frustrating at times lol. Unlike the Soulsborne games (which I am used to) you can't just run through a level to keep reattempting a boss once you've reached it. Since Returnal is a roguelike you have to keep clearing biomes prior to taking on a boss as you need to level up your proficiency, get better weapons, increase your HP, augment your suit etc etc each time you die otherwise you wouldn't be strong enough. Say you've spent a good hour doing that in biomes 1 - 3 and then die on the biome 3 boss? Yep... have to do all of that again lol. I have only ever played a couple roguelike titles before though so I'm sure part of my frustration comes from inexperience heh.

My fav boss so far:

Currently getting my arse kicked in Biome 5
[Edit: Finished. My GOTY so far] :)

Last level aside which (for the most part) was more annoying than anything, I absolutely loved this. The cutscene videos are starting to look a little fuzzy now but the rest of the game holds up really well thanks in large part to its artstyle. Great writing, humour & voice acting with some incredibly unique level design/puzzles. Ready for the sequel next month now! :D

Also, a note on your last post MS. The Meat Circus got nerfed pretty heavily in a post-release patch. You think it was annoying NOW... ;)

I'd definitely say do them if you can. They're not that bad if you've someone in the group who knows the fight.

There were a couple of fights that I really struggled with and died a LOT, but most of them I held my own with and did really well (no deaths first try on the final boss, for example). I think with a bit of practice and learning the fights more I'd be good for the others too.

Story is really good too! Well worth it!
