I took up Gyphons suggestion and hoped into a 10 day free trial to check this game out.
I have played Necron 1 beta..... but never even seen 2

Its pretty fun so far.
The concept and environment are kewl and there are alot of customization options (always a plus in my book).

Only major gripe right off the bat is the interface....
The UI is a bit clunky and not as intuitive as most games.
Seems the tutorial should help a little more with UI techniques and less on things you could prob figure out yourself in a couple mins.....

Taking a bit to get the basics down.

Tried a Berzerker Tank, a Soldier Tank and a Monk Inquis so far.
The Inquis has been the most fun so far, as I just wave my hand around and everything dies
No worries about ammo or waiting for the reticle to zero in, just wave wave die

Oh yeah meant to ask, do all NPC's hate the monk race?
Seen a big difference in how I am treated now...

Which is funny now, because rezza is now the tyrant presiding over neocron city, and he's calling the twilight guardian freedom fighters terrorists!

Hehe. Once you start PvPing with both a monk and a char that needs a gun, reload, and AIMING RETICLE... Then you'll see why it's called Monk-o-cron

If you got a capped AggrisivePsiUser (APU) and know how to play it, you can kill an entire team/clan with a 2-men team. You deal the most damage ingame, almost never miss a shot, take lot of damage if a Passive Psi User (PPU) keeps you alive. So a PPU/APU tag team is the most powerful team in NC. And the most fun way to play

However an APU on its own is pretty vulnerable, so that means you gotta kill your opponent in like 2 seconds, as you are dead a second later.

the most fun thing ingame is VHC v VHC fights. ok, so i would say that having allways been a driver. but me and kiang were out in the rhino the other day and got in a fight with another rhino, speeding along blasting out the side.... with a little fraps work we could have made Mad Max 4 :-) plus once one rhino blows everyone falls out, blows the other one and the fight continues on foot... they need to put a driving arena in NF. id never leave

anyhow, welcome to the game bud, glad you like it. the tutorial is kinda useless, i played it yesterday on a new character for the first time and it didnt show me anything i needed ingame :-/ but once you hook up with someone its a fast learning experience, especially a PPU to go with your APU

Can't remember, but what resolutions did NC offer in the 1280 range? I've recently snatched the living room's 27" LCD TV and am currently using it. It'd be wonderful if NC offered 1280 x 720, as that's native 16:9 aspect ratio. Just played HL2 with all settings maxed on this widescreen beauty. PURE MOVIE EXPERIENCE.

I can see why this game has such a following it is a blast.

Have had very lil time for multiple MMO's of late, thx to my newest school/work schedule.
So will unfortunately have to put this off to the side.

Def know where to get my cyber punk fix from now on tho if I get the itch
