Is anyone interested in an SSX e-mail address? Inquisitor and I have discussed it, and we can not really provide them through our current host, nor can we provide them for free. However, we can provide them with reasonable amounts of storage (50MB or more) for as little as $10/year. You would be able to acess your address via webmail or through your preferred client.
You would have to pay for the first year up front, and you would lose your address if you did not renew it, but otherwise it would be your indefinitely.
Is anyone interested?

I would like to have a SSX email, but $10 a year for 50MB, when Yahoo charges $20 a year for 2.5GB, and Gmail gives you 2.6GB for free? I know SSX can't compete with Gmail or Yahoo, but really I doubt many people would be willing to pay that much.

Yeah, I know. I have only surveyed a few options. I am sure I have not seen the best deal available.
I am not real sure about what we might need to make domain specific e-mail possible, but what I suppose is that we need a company to host/route our domain specific e-mail for us. We can not do that with our current site host, so we need to go to a third party.
For $9.99/year, register.com offers e-mail hosting for a single domain specific address with 50MB of online e-mail storage. It is not generic storage (AFAIK).
Now, I am sure there are better deals, and we should hear about those deals. My personal opinion is that nothing is truly free - anything "free" has an embedded cost. So, do the Yahoo and Gmail deals mean they will host domain specific e-mail and permit webmail access?
I did just look at Yahoo, and they have a very inexpensive option which might provide e-mail for almost all of the SSX, but I have to wait til tomorrow to contact one of their customer serveice professionals.

Yes, that's how we did it before, my IP is not set up to allow me to easily admin that. We COULD, but Messiah is offering an alternative.
I'd rather the MX record point somewhere else and manage it that way. That's easiest.
There's also the added benefit that people will treat the address with a little respect if they have to pay (however small an amount) for it. When we did SSC mail a long time ago, some folks decided to use it to sign up for all their spam-prone things.
And when that address was no longer needed, suddenly *I* got all the spam.
