Word filter

It has 6 entries in it.

One of them is: S H I T.

I am inclined to remove that entry from the filter, and only re-add it if it becomes a problem.

If it stays, I'd have to rework the filter to deal with all it's variations, shitty for instance.

Thoughts?

Although the majority of us are certainly old enough to be using such words in everyday life, there are some minors among us.

Whatever's decided, we should bear that in mind.

I would say leave it to the members to behave themselves, if it becomes a prob then put it back in, otherwise leave it out..

(just promise me that you wont let esd edit the word filter, i've been to Mad Goner and its full of ferrets and other randoms because of that filter!

Personally I'm against the Federal Communications Commission anyway, mostly because they're assholes so I suggest we get rid of the filter alltogether.

Ironically my depiction of them is the one that usually needs to be censored. However I strongly doubt that my choice of words is the key to breaking the minds of minors.

As far as people who overuse the words, there should be scrutiny placed upon their posts because these few words aren't the missing pieces of the puzzle when it comes to a coherent and mindful sentence. If swearing becomes so frequent that it poses an issue, we should take steps to remove the culprits themselves, but I wouldn't censor myself just because others miss-use the language.

This is just about one word, the words remaining are not coming off the list, ever. They serve little to no purpose in asynchronous communications like these forums. One of them may serve a purpose in real time communications (I use it myself), but the others aren't up for debate at this time

Removed "shit." If it gets abused, it goes back on, and the abuser gets smacked.

Yeah, it's not as if I really expect you to remove them all, I was just trying to make a point.
