QD posted a really great informative reflection into himself and the SSX. I highly recommended taking the time and read the thread. It is long I warn you, but insightful. Click HERE to check it out.

This post really hit home and made me realize I've got some major things to be thankful for, and just how little our dramas have been on Mannoroth.
So, thank you to my family for always putting their heads together and always being the true family you are, watching out for every person and trying to reach their goals as a family, whether it be getting them to 60, helping them farm for a whelpling pet, getting that special enchant or recipe, killing 3 horde for messing with our kiddos, finding a way to play MC without losing the family feel, getting that special warlock/paladin their epic mounts and then cussing them every time we see them on it for being able to get a free epic, cheering on someone's RL accomplishments, or sending big hugs and kisses during tough times.
Thank you STNY and Archons for making the end-game content possible without all the fuss, and for the many great times we've shared and surely will continue to share in the future.
I know we've got some stresses of our own recently, but am posting this reply in hopes you will all go read this suggested material and see like I did just how well we have it.
Also, I'd like to send best wishes to our Bladefist cousins... seems like they've likely got a rough rocky road ahead to recovery and a lot of tough decisions to be made. I do have a couple of ideas for them, but last time I posted just a UI they might like to look at and see if it would help for something, I was practically assaulted for it, so any that want to hear my idea can PM me please, if they like the idea, I'll let that person post it and take the credit and/or heat for it being right/wrong, i'm not thick-skinned enough for that again, and I don't know the women in the bladefist guys' lives to have them rightfully slapped.
Hugz, etc.

Feel free to post them, even if we don't agree with some of your ideas i'd still be interested in hearing them. Its nice to hear peoples thoughts from outside of a group sometimes.Magdalena wrote:I do have a couple of ideas for them, but last time I posted just a UI they might like to look at and see if it would help for something, I was practically assaulted for it, so any that want to hear my idea can PM me please.
I won't assault you for it, promise.

Okay, here goes but I'm keeping it here so only those that want to see it and are looking for it will... maybe it was some of the ones only after loot that did that, I don't know them well enough to know which is which.
Any assaulters should be made aware that the Mannoroth women already have PIs on standby and we will find a woman in your life willing to slap you freely, whether it be your wife, mother, sister, grandmother, I'm sure there's one that's just itching to be asked to slap you, and all it takes is one woman asking them, any woman. (Those that don't believe we will, ask Jonisrahl, Doll, Adamoth, and Trixster... they will tell you the pains they've endured muhahahah. )
My idea would be to not do away with raids as I'm sure there are a bunch of people who enjoy them for fun, not for loot or otherwise selfishness. The trick though is limiting how often you do the bigger raids. Doing MC and BWL both 2-3 nights a week every week will take a toll on your group no matter what as that leaves only 1-3 nights per week to do anything else if you're online every single night of the week and during weekends. Instead, try taking your time with them and limiting to a total of 2-3 nights a week, having MC on one week and BWL on the next. There's nothing saying you have to be keeping up with the jones' and doing these instances every time they're available. This leaves more time for people to help each other get their fire res gear or level an alt and focus on having fun with something to look forward to.
The second part that has to be worked on though is leaving people out all the time. It is natural that they want to be in there having a good time with their friends and doing stuff with the guild. In all honesty WoW is little to no fun playing solo on the weekends. This part depends on how many people are left out and how well you're doing with MC/BWL. If say 20 people are left out and you're up to the point of handling most of it with only 30, even out into two groups for the instance. Or, if you're still needing all 40 players to down bosses, ensure the other 20 is somewhat balanced as well and designate someone to lead a ZG run with that group, also put their names down so that on the next run if they're there on time, they are the first to be invited. If there's only 5-15 have them go for another instance (DM, Strat, UBRS, etc). (20-man can also farm the non-boss mobs in MC for fiery cores etc for guild bank to help everyone get their epic fire res sets.) Sometimes not having the perfect group is worth sacrificing in order to ensure those that are left out are not left feeling left out by having something they can be doing as guildies too.
This would all take some adjustment time, and those only in it to go to MC/BWL every waking moment would give up after a little while, and if they don't, start having votes on their actions. Rotate who leads the groups so everyone gets a chance to see who the people are that are causing the raid leaders so much grief and even put those people in charge of leading a raid themselves so they see just how much you're having to deal with and get the opportunity to see first hand what they're putting you through. A lot of times experiencing it first hand and having people point out to them that they're receiving what they've been giving is enough to make some straighten up their act. Of course go along as a mentor telling them what they need to do at each point etc.
Eventually this way you'd get to where you at least have quite a few people that can lead the raids and not have only a couple of people with all this weight on their shoulders day in and day out, and everyone would get the chance to just sit back and enjoy the raid while they're waiting on their turn to step up to the plate.
Also, there are 2 UIs worth taking a look at... Group Calendar or Guild Scheduler. Both can be used with your alliance guilds as well if you give them the channel name. They'd help you by having people sign up and being able to move them around in there where everyone can see the two groups being set up. (These are something I mentioned in another post, don't know if they were ever looked at or not.)
Anyways, maybe its all trash, maybe you wanna use some of it, maybe you wanna use all of it... anyway around it, it is just ideas I had guys, just putting them out there...

Setting up the times for the raids and inviting for the raid itself are bound to be troublesome. People will always be angry when they aren't allowed to come on raids, but what can you do, right?
IMHO it's too problematic to try and figure out who deserves to be allowed into the raid over someone else (i.e. person A has been offline for months at a time while person B is a regular attendee to the raids), and those most deserving to be invited at the start of the raid are the ones that are there one time, raid leaders included.
Set up raid events weeks in advance and like Magdalena said, space them out to allow enough time for the less stressful aspects of the game. Open up the raid invites on time, and close them when the raid is full, and move on to filling up the wait list. A problem could arise if you had too many of one class as being the first ones on time. I'm not sure what Bladefist's situation with classes on raids is.
If people become too angry that you aren't raiding as often, you will easily be able to tell who is really there for the SSX atmosphere and who is in it for the raids.
Being that I am not fully aware of all of your problems with this, and that I haven't "been there" I'm sure I have probably posted things that you already do, or already have thought of. But there ya have it... My $0.02 on the subject.
Unlike Magdalena, I do not carry the feminine power to influence the women in your life to slap you. So feel free to flame away!

Wow, went through reading some further updates... how do they run MC and BWL without vent or Teamspeak, this boggles me greatly! They got nobody singing made up songs telling 'em to heal the tank, nothing? This is truely sad indeed...
Didn't know what we were missing before we had it, but now I have to say I don't think I could go back to playing WoW without it...
suggest starting to talk on it before a big raid though, and listing specifically who is allowed to talk during the raid, (everyone else goes listen only mode during actual raids.)
Suggestion: Raid leaders make up a silly song to tell people what they should have been doing and weren't and sing! (you don't have to be good) It really grabs people's attention and they'll remember it because the silly song is stuck in their heads for WEEKS!
Downside: You may receive random singing requests for the rest of your days<shrug>
Really helps you get to know people and their personalities better than ever...

I included another recent post to a sticky in the recruitment section under Why the SSX? It is an excellent thread and highly suggested reading.
Its been added to the Essential SSX thread under Some Perspective in the general forums.
I highly suggest everyone read this and a perhaps even add it to our website along with other Essential SSX.
Check out the post HERE.
