STNY's new systems and the way they do things

So did everyone read their new looting systems???
they posted the changes in the way they loots things and farming stuff and what not....what are everyone's thoughts on this???

question i really wanna know is..what's going on happen to us???
does it feel like we are being casted aside??

thoughts???

I was wondering the same thing. I was kind of holding out from asking to see if Jack or Mel had a chance to talk to them. But I would really like to know the answer also.

The other large change we are going to make, as it will help enhance communication, encourage people to work for the benefit of the guild, and also solve some problems with loot is we are switching the loot system to officer merit. Systematically, it will work similar to how we do things now. Heres the process.

Boss dies
Loot Officer links drops
Item will be linked

If you want the item, you send tells to loot officer, WITH THE ITEM(S) YOU CURRENTLY USE IN THAT SLOT
Officers look at various data points, discuss the merits of the people who want it

Person who is chosen to win, loots
Were going to still keep the spreadsheet, but were going to add a few more columns too it so we can make better decisions about loot. One of the big additions is we are going to count how many non-farm status raids you come on the previous week. So the next time we do a farm status instance, the people who are doing non-farm status raids are going to get a big boost in terms of loot. We are also going to start tracking when the last time you get loot is. This way we can make sure people arent going forever without getting this. We will still post these spreadsheets and will most likely make a specific forum on the new forums just to handle issues that may arrise from this switch. There will be more clarification on this in the days to come (we havent even worked out all the details of it yet ourselves).

It sounds to me like they're trying to isolate themselves. I can see the reasoning for rewarding those who participate more often, but it sounds like it's going to come down to the point where a person's going to have to [effectively] be in STNY to get any sort of consideration for loot. Apparantly there are some bugs to work out before this goes into effect though.

That is what it sounds like to me also. But I was wondering if anyone had heard from STNY before I was willing to make that assumption.

well, the wife and i noticed that too...sounds like they are saying join us or don't bother coming cause u won't be looting...but u never know....but i'll hear the official word first before assuming that's what they mean...i mean imagine, in order to loot, u need to link what ur wearing before u can loot...and to have to let the class leader decide...man..we'll see..

Not sure what is going on with this, sorry Jack and I haven't been able to get online since early last week due to some things that had to be done.

Went to try and leave Skier a message this morning, but more strange stuff... their website is gone. Seems they let their domain name and/or hosting services expire.

Probably another bad written interpretation again, but guess we'll have to wait and find out.

Will ask them when I get a chance, but not sure when that will be right now.

Well it is good to hear from you. Hope things are going good. I guess we will wait and see than in regards to thier rules.

so last nite, i was msging with skier...and told him how ismona asked undrin to tell us to send ismona a tell to join the raid...some of us did that and got a invite while others did it a few times, and got no invites or no replies and pretty much just ignore us....i explained to skier that it pissed myself off personally and thus i didn't go raiding with them that week when we were all looking forward to going....and thus because i was pissed, i also mentioned that the pink hair water cooler decided not to go also....skier did say that he was not aware of it and didn't know it happened. I also mentioned that a lot of the us wanted to go and we knew the raid wasn't full but we got no invites. Anyways, long story short, he just said he wasn't aware of that..plus ismona was not an officer. I do not know if he is going to talk to ismona or not...whatever, i figure i let u guys know...

Just letting you all know I'll be meeting with Skier to discuss all the new stuff going on either Sunday or Monday when he's off of work and not on raids. I'll share all the info as soon as I get it...
