As some of you may have read, Blizzard is opening character transfers from our realm and others to a new server, Mug'thol. Mannoroth was one of the original realms and is always among the top realms to have problems. The recent queues aren't the first of their kind. The good side of making a switch obviously would be to get away from the constant lag, queues, and server crashes that plague mannoroth on a constant basis.
There are down sides too though... including an unstable economy in the beginning of the new realm... it will eventually balance out, but will take a while. Another downside as far as some of us are concerned is we'd be likely going through the war effort all over again after just having completed it on Mannoroth. Also, we'd be starting from scratch since likely would be doing this without the guilds we currently have alliances with.
Personally I'd be willing to suffer through the initial set-backs for a chance to actually play without all the issues we have now because I'm looking longterm and see that Mannoroth will always have these issues it has today and sometimes worse. I don't however want to make the change without my friends, so I'm posting up here to get you guys' thoughts on making the switch... putting up a poll, please post your thoughts on it too...
We only have until next Wednesday to make this decision so hopefully we can get everyone's thoughts asap.

I think it would be great to go to another server, provided we all went. We're a decent sized group now and could have a significant influence on the "New World".
I'm not sure what the effect of an unstable economy will have on us as a guild, I'm a naturalist, not an economist.
My hunch is that if other groups of people transfer characters we'll have a pool of money to jump-start the economy instead of having to go through all the instabilities of starting one from zero. We may see some initial inflation, but that would be to our benefit too. At this point we seem pretty self-sufficient as far as professions and ability to make things is concerned. Since we don't have to depend on others to provide materials, or if we do, we can easily get our members to the point that we need, we're looking at profit, not loss.
The War Effort thing intrigues me. Yes, we just went though it but it seems to me like it will be another good opportunity. We've all got characters that can benefit from the work it takes to get the effort done again. I see it as a great way to level our secondary skills, especially now that we know where the best places to do get it done are. Conversely, we've already gone through it and if the motivation to do it again isn't there we haven't lost anything for the lack on the new server.
Personally, the thought of improved performance overrides any other considerations for staying on Mannoroth.
Regards,
Phil

personally, i really don't want to...why? cause all my friends that's not in the guild is on tha mannoroth....and i really don't want to leave ...also, what you have to consider is this...what if you are trying to get a pug group for your lower lvl alts?? it's tough with our server already but to go to a server with less population, that's going to get tougher.....i can see what phil means when he said we can benefit from it..yea, money wise we would...heck all i would end up doing is farming like crazy again...also what you have to mention is this, queueing for AV, AB is already tough with long lines since everyone is trying to do it....going to a new server it's going to be tougher, cause there are as much population like mannoroth that will be going to those queues....
anyways, i am a no....i really don't want to leave....i don't want to try and built up in another server....yes, mannoroth is one of the first servers, and there will always be problems with it.....
if you guys want to move, then i'll have to create a new alt on it....cause i am not willing to move...sorry....

move
Well i think we went through this question last time they allowed server swap and I think the same general reply will be to stay. However, I am getting kinda sick of not being able to sneak on at about 730pm and the queue being to long of a wait to play for 30 mins or so. Its getting increasingly laggy in SW, IF, and high populated areas. I agree that we are growing and could easily handle the questing part of it except for maybe the 40 man runs but im sure we could easily find another STNY or Archons group to fill in. But we are one and i will sway my vote to favor the whole.

Hmmm, Here we go again. This is a hard one for me. I totally understand both sides of this argument. I would go with what the guild decides in the end. A nice undecided button would be good. I will say that after the server transfers were completed last time the server stablized quite well for awhile. I will also say that in reading the WOW forums they have staed that there will be hardware upgrades inthe near future that should help with the current problems we are experiencing. Also from reading the WOW forums I have learned that there are tons of servers having the exeact same problem we are at this time. Most likley it is due to the Christmas rush. In the end I would say this server is going to be fine.
On the other hand it might be fun to start anew as one of the major players on a new server. A whole new world that has been untouched by the common people..... A whole new world that looks exactly the same.
Edited to reflect my veiw a little more clearly. So I added a little silly sarcasm.

true...but the questions is, are u willing to give up the people you have met playing on mannoroth and just jump to another server when that server is undecided....i mean granted mannoroth has both a lot of alliances and hordes so our queues in AV and AB isn't that bad....imagine going to a server with almost no hordes or very little hordes...AV and AB is going to be worst....remember mark that you play lots of both....
anyways...if u guys do want to move, that's fine with me.....i'll just create a new alt there...and if worst comes to worst and i don't play on that server much...oh well...too bad for me...

I vote not to leave for the same reasons Steve stated. I have a few good friends outside of the guild that I do not wish to lose contact with. I want to progress as a pvper on my druid (maybe my warlock too), and a new server could seriously diminish those aspirations. Yes, these queues are unbearable. Yes, lag is more common than it ever has been. But I'm not willing to start over. I just can't do it. If the guild leaves, you know I will follow. I won't be happy about it though.

Where would you be if it weren't for all the druids' help in World War III?!
