[Guild Bank Discussion]

Post by requiemdreamer »

There has been a lot of discussion recently about changes taking place in our guild and the responses have been great. Since there will be a lot of decisions needing to be made about these matters, I felt that there would be a need to organize all of it. I have set up new threads on our forums to help organize and keep separated the discussion of these main topics.

Please keep all posts in this thread related to discussion of the Guild Bank

I feel only full Members should have access to the Guild Bank.

Anyone on a run should be given the right to roll on drops that occur in that run regardless of status.

I would have to agree with Blade on this. Only full members should be able to get things out of the bank. I would also like for there to be a list of what is in it. One other comment i have is that people taking things out of the bank shoudl try to put different things back in, or if possiable the same item. We just need some way of keeping it full of goodies for everyone to enjoy.

I definitely agree on making the guild bank items for members only. In runs with STNY, they house the items in their bank, and in joint runs with Archons, the items are divided between the guilds at the end of the run. The only exception I could see is if someday we were in the position of STNY in which we were housing all of the items from runs in our bank. In that instance I'd see handing out items to others contributing to getting them.
Could also see an exception made for trading for an item that someone needs. For example, having a warlock BOE that nobody needs and trading it for an equivilent BOE set piece for another class that we do have someone that needs it in.
Also, ensuring that members who have contributed more towards getting the bank items have first crack if there's something they need. Say it's an item only obtainable by doing a specific instance, if there's two people that need it and one of them has been running that instance for 2 months while the other is new to the group and only been there like once or twice or just hasn't been on as much and hasn't gone, the person that's been going more should have first call on it. This hasn't happened yet, but I can definitely see it happening later down the line.
Also above that, something we already practice on runs but don't have official is that a main character needing something should have priority over someone else's alt. Kinda like when Trix and I or Sakuragi run our hunter alts on instances, if a hunter item drops we check to see if it's something Undrin needs first because that's his main character while our hunters are alts that we're not always on. This should probably apply to both run drops and guild bank items.
Don't forsee too many bank issues though other than helping Jonis get the items listed somewhere, this is something I haven't seen one member contradict the thoughts here so far, it's pretty much how we play as a standard, just making it official is all I think.

Basically what we do on Bladefist is "you give - you get".
If you contribute enough stuff to the bank you can take out whatever you need if the bank has it in stock, however if you never contribute items then you wouldn't be entitled to take anything from the bank. Keeps it fair.
We keep a sticky thread on the forums which lists the majority of the bank contents as well so people can see what we have in stock. :)

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Most of ours at least right now is items collected on guild runs only... other stuff we'll try to help someone if we can and/or if we have it, but don't really keep it in the bank...
at least not yet...
I'd say for now deal with what we are using it for..we have several big items on our plate right now and can revisit this one after we get the basics settled.. prioritize for things that have the greatest impact... :p :)

Are the only things in the bank high level items and materials?

I've found some items that are great for lower level characters and have ended up selling most of them because I couldn't find someone to give them too. I'd like to be able to contribute to the bank if people are willing to accept lower level items in it.

For the low items I ususally ask who wants it that's currently online before selling. Yes the bank is mainly for high lvl's set pieces etc. because there's just not enough room for everything.

What items can be contributed? What about materials? Also, is there a post on who the main guild professional providers are? Enchanter, Blacksmith, Alchemist, etc... This information would be helpful for initiates like ex-archons.

i think the guild bank a good idea. it is nice to know the content of the banks in case one of our alts hit a level for a set piece and so anxious to buy it. i believe liz is in charge of the bank right? it is a nice way to pimp out leveling guildies and alts. i do believe that only people who contributed and is noticebly contributing to guild runs should ask for it. i also think if somebody needs something and the guild bank doesnt have it we can run for it. but from the runs i've done i think we done a great job collecting set pieces and class books. i think one thing we could consider getting would be the dm trinket books cause they are hard. and considering how many ppl we have one getting a few groups of 5 to go in and farm for that. we'll sacrafice ubrs one of these weekends. i think guild banking stuff then selling extras is also a great way for the guild to make some money in case some ridiculously good recipe or plan that can be a benefit a lot of members is on sale and somebodi in the guild can make it.

This was the main topic in our last guild meeting. It was decided that we need to come up with a list of items that the guild bank will accept and hold. This will be the easiest way to maintain the bank and not have to keep track of exactly who donated what items, especially since a lot of these items are donated from guild runs currently. This will work for most of the smaller items, but need to come up with a system to use for things like the epic fire resistance gear.
Most of the ideas for the fire res gear using cores etc has been from what I've gathered based on two things..
1) The people who attend most of the MC runs gathering these items for the bank.
2) Classes that are vital to equipping first in order to make these runs easier for the entire group.

The basic ideas so far have been a combination of this, but needs to be talked out further in here to bring exact ideas to the table.

Just trying to get the discussion started... post your ideas and thoughts.

Money, the root of all evil............Hmmm i think that this statement is true. HOWEVER, only if you allow it to be. This guild is built on TRUST, HONOR, and FRIENDSHIP so we can easily ask for and give our share to the bank. If we stick to our guild's strengths we will be O.K. :thumb:
