Hey everyone, as you probably know I recently parted from SSX (do'h ). I did so originally thinking that all I wanted in WoW was high-end raid content. I found this wasnt the case some 2 hours after I left the guild while running MC with a bunch of people I didnt know or even care about. Basically, I made the mistake of being wooed by high-end raid content and forgot that I really enjoy playing with people who I know and have fun playing with. If it's possible, I would love to rejoin the guild.

I bet you I can hit my head harder than you can...

I am going to unlock this thread for now as he was asked to post this on the forums. If in the future it is agreed the thread needs to be locked again that is fine. I think it would be helpful for people to be able to ask him any questions they may have in regards to his wanting to return to SSX. Lets please keep this conversation as civil and productive as most of ours are.

the question is...what's wrong with that guild u joined and didn't like?
am just curious as why u left us for them to then leave them 2hrs later...
The biggest question in my mind personally is the longevity of this decision. This is something that was rather difficult to get into while in the game the other night, which is one of the reasons I asked corporal to post up here. The other was so that everyone gets his communications first hand rather than through another person. I wouldn't try intentionally to slant his words, but this is something everyone will have opinions on and it's a little difficult not to since I didn't have a chat log running at the time.
The basics of my question regards the fact that aiming at guilds going on a lot of the upper end instances has been something corporal has been looking at at least for a couple of weeks now. Previously he applied to STNY and as reported by their officers, his application was rejected so he stayed in SSX. Then he applied to another 'high-end' guild and was accepted and left SSX with almost not a word early Saturday morning.
When a person has been looking for something like this for weeks, I find it difficult to believe that within 2 hours of joining said guild their mind was changed completely on what they want from this game and a guild.
This leads me to wonder if it's just that he didn't like that particular guild and wants to come back to SSX as a holdover point until he finds another raiding guild he believes will be better. How quick is the mind to change again?
I like corporal a lot, as I know a lot of members do, and the sudden change of heart to being so crazy for the loot was a shocker to say the least. He's been with us a long time and never shown anything previously that would indicate he was just here for instances and loot.
This I believe has most people on the fence about bringing him back into the guild... on the one hand they like the person and want him back in the group, on the other hand everything they knew about the person changed in the blink of an eye and they're concerned that he will just stay until he sees the glitter of those pretty epics again from a guild he thinks will be better than the one he just left for.
The best way corporal to alleviate the fears is to explain what it is that you don't like about the guild you just joined? What set you against them so much in just one MC run?
The more information you provide here, the more able people are to make a decision regarding your specific case.
Sakuragi came out sounding a little harsh and abrupt, but I believe this is what he was trying to ask as well. Hope this came out ok, I honestly want to give a second chance, but feel I need to know as much as possible to ensure that is the right decision at this point in time and know that that second chance isn't going to be thrown back in our faces in a few hours, a week, a month when something else comes along.

PS - Undrin, definitely don't think this needs to be locked yet, thank you for unlocking it. If things get too far off or too ugly however we will have to lock this posting. For this purpose guys, please try to pay as much attention as possible to how your posts sound. I know there are questions and they are justified, however corporal has been a friend for a long time, don't forget that either and try to ask them how you'd expect a friend to ask you if you were in his shoes.
That one MC run (specifically listening on vent) showed plenty about the people I raiding with. First, they were probably the crudest rudest bunch I have ever been with, this in itself didnt bother me much. It was the anger that permiated throughout the raid. No one ever did anything funny or seemed to be trying to have fun. It made me realize what I took for granted in SSX and that was people who just liked hanging out with each other.
Sorry bout the brief response, school sucks atm...

The usual rule of thumb was that the first departure was always okay, considering the fact that this happens. The friendship gets taken for granted, and when people leave, they figure out it's not that common in other places, especially with the kind of structure we have here.
Choice is entierly up to the players in the group, though I doubt anyone would have problems with this. It's really when the leaving and wanting to come back starts repeating, that you have a problem.
Like I said, this is fairly common. Everyone should get at least one chance.
I am all for giving you another chance. I have never had a problem with you. It looks as though you appreciate the kind of community SSX really is compared to others out there. So anyways you have my vote.
I am all for giving you a second chance. People make mistakes, and such is life. While it is disappointing that your decision to leave was made An ability to forgive is, I think, a shining example of the type of guild that we are. Hopefully if it is agreed to bring you back in it will only strengthen your positive attitude towards the guild as a whole.
This seems like something that will have to be decided upon at our next meeting.
