"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Thanks for everyone who showed up
These are some highlights:
1) When using the archive, make sure that at least you include a link to the original post if you have split off posts, the archive needs context. Ask if you have questions before archiving something.
2) Try not to over moderate and archive too much. Sometimes, a single post off topic doesn't actually do any harm. You may do unintentional harm by moderating it. Be aware of unintended consequences. If you have a question about whether something should be moderated, ask.
3) Be NICE to each other, if in doubt, look at the banner on the top of these forums. Treat each other with respect, don't assume the worst and give people a way to moderate themselves, rather than moderating them. This goes for both the moderators and the moderated.
4) Be NICE to each other. If you don't know someone, talk to somoen who DOES know them and get them to help you resolve the problem. When in doubt, ask another mod or ask me for help. If you are a flash point for an argument, get someone who isn't to help.
5) Disagreement and criticsim is not disrespect. People can disagree without coming to blows, if someone suggests something, they may have good experience that leads to that suggestion. Ask why, find out more, rather than tell them to STFU.
6) Finally, while some of us are mods, arbiters, or whatever, people will look at our communications with more scrutiny. Whether we acknowledge it or not, some of us have the dubious distinction of being viewed as "leaders" and sometimes the things we say directly impacts people. The see mandates where none exist. Those of us with "titles" need to be aware of unintended consequences, that some things we say may be taken as "law." We need to strive to make it clear that we are all in this together, and just because *I* say something, doesn't automagically make whatever it is "a rule."
There were other things, but those were my takeaways. I spent most of the hour just blabbing.
Basically, what I need everyone to do is communicate. These forums are a great tool for communication, use them, PM people, but they are not the end all be all. Get on IRC and ask questions, think about what you are posting before posting it, ask yourself "will this post I am making have any unintended consequences? Am I too mad at someone to post this now? Could someone read something into this? What would I say if someone said this to me?"
A great many of us have done and said somethings in recent months that we regret. Let's help each other help ourselves.
We're a great group of folks, IMHO. We should get together and vent at each other more often, if we can't all be in the same game, we can all at least continue conversations. There is no reason anyone should ever feel unable to talk to someone.
Thanks guys! Lets make 2006 a good year! Let's all be "Bob"

baby steps to the door... baby steps to the elevator.. baby steps to the offtopic post..
Good movie, Murry is one of my all-time favorite actors.
Yeah, wish I could've caught the meeting (spent Sunday on the Colorado river ^,^ ). I especially like the part 'quiz mentioned about thinking before you post. I would imagine a person doesn't need to be extremely paranoid about how their thread/post might be perceived, but a little thought goes a long way. Just wish I would remember that more than just some of the time
Looks like some very good things were discussed. Was the attendance very large? Oh, and feel free to stick this post in the other thread if its better placed there. I just thought it was getting a bit long
