As many of you already know from being online when this all happened, one of our players was removed from the guild this weekend for advertising and hosting their very own WoW cheats and exploits page. Unfortunately the damage this could have caused to the guild name meant this had to be handled quicker than we would normally like to handle issues. However it did not happen without a large discussion beforehand. This included all of those logged in and on vent as well as me visiting those online in our chat live area and getting their thoughts and input on the situation. I went to them mainly because we wanted to ensure we weren't going against any general SSX rules by doing an immediate removal which was the unanimous vote of those there at the time. Thank you to those that were there and helped us feel more assured in the tough decision at hand, your assurances went a long way to help us make the move we already knew had to be made.
Normally, I wouldn't post a removal like this, however I want to remind everyone that this community will not support those that utilize and advertise use of exploits and hacks to the game.
Also, I wanted to get the opinions of all of those on Mannoroth... obviously, he's already been removed, but this also be a blacklist offense? I reported this already to STNY since they are our allies and I somehow felt they needed to know the situation to make an educated decision if the character were to apply to their guild.
Personally I wanted to add him to our blacklist, but it was an afterthought and I wanted to get others' opinions before making that change. No hard feelings for any that might want to or might not want to, it's a tough decision adding someone to our blacklist that was so close to becomming a full member so its likely there may be various opinions on this subject...

If someone is doing something that goes blatantly against the user agreement like this does blacklisting isn't too harsh a penalty in my mind. Blacklisting will let everyone know we don't tolerate these types of behaviors and how severe we feel that sort of breach is. There's no need for the group to become associated with behaviors like these.

The outrage and dumbfounded reactions were unanimous to all those online, and though blacklist wasn't brought up due to the fact we were all edgy about reacting on such short notice, but knew action had to be taken in some form immediately.
The important first response being out of the way though, I thought it better to put the question of blacklist here first and let everyone post their thoughts on that. Especially those that weren't online or didn't already find out in some way. Figured less of a shock to the system than logging on, seeing the blacklist update and going 'wtf mate', he's been on our initiate status for weeks now with no prior issues, what happened?
Though I'm sure those that did that would understand once told the circumstances, makes the soul rest easier letting the circumstances out beforehand. (At least for me.)
The immediate reaction was strong enough to wait on this, he was removed from the guild and reported to a GM by several officers.
As the story goes for those that don't know the full of it, he posted his website also on (of all places) www.worldofwarcraft.com. Naturally it was quickly deleted from there, but not quick enough to not be seen, and a thread was started under the Mannoroth forum listing him by name. A day later, one of our other players went wtf as a GM booted them out of the game giving them a button they had to press to cancel logout with the reason given that they were suspect of using a bot. Luckily our guild's name has not been dragged into the conversation about him at this time, hopefully it never will, though just in case I am watching the thread and will respond accordingly if necessary. The way those threads tend to go though, putting a post up there now would just start the trash talk about us rather than prevent it.
I definitely believe he deserves the blacklist, no question in my mind. We've likely only seen the beginning of this problem, unless we're really lucky... but so far we've handled it the best we could and as fast as we possibly could have. Those things we have on our side, and hopefully that will be enough.

cheaters never win
Blacklist definetly........ Keep in mind that hacks and cheats not used directly by you can still have adverse and profound results to the WoW universe even used by other people, so be wary. Say No to hacks!
