4/1/06 Meeting Minutes Comments

Post by Magdalena »

Here is where we ask comments to be made on the decisions made in the meeting on 4/1/06.

As a reminder, here are the decisions made:

Veteran staus
It has been decided to change the Veteran title to indicate to the group those members that are currently active in the forums, guild meetings, and in game. This does not grant any additional priviledges, it is simply a way of us being able to easily see the members that are currently active within the guild. As part of this change, all current Veterans that are not active in all of these areas will be moved down to member status.

This status will be evaluated the first meeting of every month.

One exception will be made for the small children of members (12 & Under) in the group, they will be kept at veteran status and are not required to be active on the forums or in the meetings.

Initiate

It was determined that initiates not accepted into the guild after the initial screening process will not be brought back for another screening option. The general feeling is that there was a valid reason they were not brought in the first time and that putting them back in initiate status could create too much turmoil within the members.

I think we should have more appetizers during the meetings... like finger sandwiches or something, as the donuts are getting a lil stale.

PS. I will bring the wine next time. ;D

Why not just another status called: Retired?
Gutka[Main] - 60 Human Warrior (Mining/Alchemy)
Farin - 60 Human Priest (Herbalist/Tailoring)
Kazaka - 51 Dwarf Hunter (Mining/Engineering)

Ok, well on a first note, Jeremie since you suggested the babysitting idea, who is going to babysit you??

On to serious stuff... sorry you weren't feeling well this weekend and ended up missing the meeting. Will try to explain some about the inactivity as that was aimed somewhat at your thoughts on the people who haven't logged on as well as those that haven't been a part of meetings or discussions here on the forums. The thought was basically
to ignore the actual titles of the different ranks but use them more for organizational purposes.

Initiate - Pretty much what it states still, for those someone has met out in mannoroth they believe would be a good fit for SSX. They're under an introduction period where everyone else makes their best efforts to get to know the person and get to figure out if they will be a good fit for SSX and if SSX is what they are looking for.

Member - This kind of changed to identifying those that are not active in all parts of SSX. Inactivity in any or all of the following categories once a full member of SSX would result in being placed in this category. There is no change in priviledges other than the fact that you are not eligible to be an officer from this level. The reason being that officers have to be leaders in all parts of SSX, not just one, in order to be effective leaders.

Veteran - This title will be reserved for those currently regularly active in game, active in the guild meetings, and active in discussions on the forum. If there is an officer position available, people in this group would be eligible for that position. (Officer availability or number of positions we should have has not been determined, this is something everyone was asked to think over during the next week.)

The only other decision made on statuses is that the same activity level required of veterans will be required by our officers in order to remain officers. This does not mean you have to be at every single guild meeting or check the forums 10x a day, but does mean a best effort should be made on both counts. If for some reason you don't think you'll be able to make a meeting or something for a bit, let others know what is going on and take a guess how long. A maximum of 6 weeks with notice of what is going on was decided for officers since they are needed around a bit more and need to be up to date on current changes in operation before taking actions. The example that was given, someone not on for the past 6 weeks might not realize there is a maximum of 5 initiates at a time now and could in theory end up inviting more than we're ready for, or not add the officer's note to let us know when they were invited or by whom.

I know I repeated myself a lot there, but trying to make sure I explained well enough. If there are further questions, please feel free to ask... sorry if I missed something guys.

You heard that right ladies? Phil volunteered to take all of our kids... he didn't specify that we couldn't send the overgrown ones too... so time to arrange to send all our kids and hubbies over to Phil's house! :)

I'll take all kids under the age of 10. Phil can have all the ones over that age. He can also send over any "big kids" who wish to be experimented on.
