Raid Leader!!

Post by sakuragi »

Okay, I am going to ask Iceberg to be the Raid Leader here. Why? because he has gone to more instances then anyone..he knows the layout..he knows what he is doing....who in the guild can lead a team to finish the 45mins estrat run???

Iceberg is the one person that said he could lead a team to finish the 45mins estrat run which he did...who is more qualified??

This pull will last 7 days...please vote...

I wanna vote for Iceberg to actually come up to the forums and join in on the topics

Yes, if I see your name mentioned and you're not up here taking part in the group I'm going to start calling people out on it...

ZING! I gotta agree with Mel here. Showing up on the GUILD forum from time to time is not only important but sets an example for the vets and members. I will however give jyh mad props for being the raid king (ty for the 45 run). As for raid leader its Still in my mind Capt Jack Sparrow YARRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Yeah, but their names weren't being voted on... I'll call them out too if I see their names on something up here... might even start heckling them out even if they don't... we eventually got ice to talk in vent... now just gotta work on talking on the forums once in a while... at least take part in discussions on polls if ya don't comment or do anything else guys... these have a direct impact on how the guild is run and on a serious note, if you don't like the way things are going my response is going to start being to take part in the discussions and voting, your vote counts just as much as mine, sakuragi's, trixster's, lili's, rlyan's, requiemdream's, undrin's, padishar's, jonisrahl's, scarletrahl's, and ragingdeath's, gutka's, and brandonheat's.

Why do I name these specific names? Because they are the ones I know have been taking part in at least a good part of the discussions and votes if not all. Speaking our high so far is having 14 votes I believe, and that was probably kahn and/or bladesinger as they are both up here all the time too. That leaves a lot of others lurking, others who reportedly talk about things they don't like in private... private talk is what I call hearsay, not very reliable. I understand not wanting to post some things here where open to everybody though, so if you don't want to talk about it at least let us know here it is something you'd like to see discussed in the next guild meeting, we'll gladly add it to the agenda then you can speak your peace there among the same people you're around all the time.

He doesn't talk because he's sleeping the entire time. You know he doesn't actually get up till noon on weekends and he still takes an afternoon nap even with the late rise. In his own words "you know us old people need a nap in the afternoon." Personally, I don't think he has the finess to pull off being a raid leader. He should always be the raid puller to keep people on their toes, but he doesn't have the kind of control over a group of more than 5 people that's needed for a raid. He does not ooze leadership. Personally I'll be the first one to ignore him since he doesn't speak up and just follows and when it's not going fast enough he just pulls. And come on he's scared of a certain somebody who is at least 5 years younger than him. Not to mention he is exposing his 8 year old nephew to the dangers of second hand smoke. Of course if he shows a little backbone, quits smoking, and buys a certain somebody a really nice birthday present, I might think it's okay for him to lead groups of up to 10 people.

Personally think he's great in smaller groups but have to agree with lili on the speaking up issue. No offense ice, but a bigger group would run over you as soft as you are. Would agree however if you've got suggestions to send 'em to somebody a little louder like tell mei to say it for you... or start speaking up yourself, would say start with a drinking run to UBRS... get used to having to hold the attension of a smaller raid group.

Estrat 45 min is a little different, only have to hold the focus of 4 other people and it's for a very short amount of time comparatively.

Adore ya Ice, but going from difficult to get to even say a couple words on vent to leading 20 people on it is a big step for anybody.

Still think its amazing that a bunch of loudmouths like us have gotten so many voice shy people... we'll break 'em all in eventually and they'll be just as loud as the rest of us :)

you should not freaking piss on him...that's wrong....if u don't like him, deal with it....but don't post stuff like that and bash him...that's inconsiderate of u..and that's just harsh....there is no need to do that....

Sakuragi, please calm down. As I stated further in the pm I just sent to you, nobody is cutting Jyh down, we all like him. Just think he needs a bit more of a comfort level with everybody before leading the bigger raids is all. He's the type that takes a bit to warm up to people and feel comfortable enough with them to speak up. This isn't a bad thing at all, just don't think he has that comfort level yet with the entire group to do so on a bigger run yet. Definitely see him being very good at it once he gets that though and should probably pose the question then, I believe a much better response will be seen.

so being iceberg's sister i see that this is kind off attacking him. he didn't volunteer himself to be raid leader. you guys shouldnt be calling him out on anything. its his choice to write remarks on the forum or not. if i remember correctly all new member have to register for the forums but not have to make a comment. i understand this is a good place for people who wants to talk about stuff and come here because we all have a comment interest and want to share them. sometime people arent open like that like iceberg and joel. i dont think the forum is necessary to communicate. its not hard to find people when you want to talk to them. they are in the game. remember the game we play call "world of warcraft" not ssx forum. as for people who dont participate. i can only speak for me, joel, and alex when we say we have work in the morning or in alex's case he has chores. not everybody has a 9 to 5 job on monday to friday. its called life. the game is suppose to be fun not a chore and not responsibilities. if i have to present at a certain time during the day somewhere in the game, forum, or vent i might as well be at work. as for voting on saturdays, i understand you guys want everybodies opinion but that's why we have officers to make the vote. thats what officers are for they make the choices. as for the list of people that 'participate" in the game and for people that dont. i believe alex should be a part of that list. he helps people out all the time. as for doing runs only beneficial to us, um..lets see i sacrafice bringing my warlock half the time to bring my priest so there would be enough healers. dont base your opinions on one or two runs when your actually online. no offense mel you're only on like one to two times a week and it just so happen when your on other people arent. dont come on and say theres that many people that arent 'participating'. there has to be double the people in the guild of what you listed but the people you listed are people that you have played with. dont be biased in your comments. thats all i gotta say and fyi i voted no for jyh to be raid leader. he didnt volunteer for it and i dont believe a 'job' should be assigned to him. if he wants to lead it should be out of the kindness of his heart and not because he was forced into it because supposebely hes not 'participating' enough. thank you so much for reading

hello im back again., really should finish reading all the post before i make a comment but im back. you guys havent given him a chance to lead a raid and lets see the one 45 min strat run that failed happen to be a few people in it that i dont want to name because i dont believe in the naming game. but its the people who attempted that havent finish the quest yet. if people be quiet and not drink then people could hear him if he was to lead a raid. dont say that he cant lead it if you havent been in one. he can speak up if people would listen. you be suprise how much stuff can get done. jack does a great job at leading the raid and being his wife mel im sure you want him to continue to have that role. its just sometime it takes him a lil bit longer and things take forever. you want me to say how i feel. i dont understand why we are doing aq runs when we cant even do zg run. considering zg is easier. call me old fasion but i like to do runs that are achieveable. i want to kill boss and have drops., i dont want to die 50 times to kill one boss in aq and be really happy about it then go fix my armor and its like 3g and ive gotten nothing out of the run. i dont care if i dont get anything but i dont want to waste a whole evening just wiping. why not try something achieveable like zg? but i know what i'm going to get for making this comment. "why dont you just speak up?" lets see last week i ask what are we doing guys. oh we're killing hordes right now was the answer i got back. thats great next thing i see was u guys in dm. dont lie and make plans and not invite other people. i join pugs because it takes like 3 hours to get a run going. raid time supposebly start at 7:00 but it's 10;00 before the groups are form (because hold on we gotta refer to our spreadsheet and see what everybody need) then by then most people are tired. i'm done venting, these are my opinion take it or leave it.

First off, the participation list I gave was for in the forums, not in game. There are a lot more that participate in game, in fact the majority of our guild does participate in game.

As for officers making decisions, if you think that's what they're for then you need to read up more on what ssx is about and how we handle things. Officers are NOT for making the decisions for the guild.

I was not bashing Jyh however in any way shape or form. It was asked why people voted no, I gave my reasoning, and believe I'm entitled to my thoughts on that. Its nothing against him whatsoever. If the majority vote is in favor of it I will gladly go giving fair chance. I also see him starting to talk more recently, but only very recently. Continuing on this track, I can definitely see him leading as confidence is gained.

If you have a problem specifically with me as it seems, please talk to me about it as until now I was unaware there was an issue between us. I will be happy to carry this conversation offline.

ok just my 2 cents, and before you think i am posting back any kida of flame or anyhing else. I am glad you posted how you feel on this. One of the bigest stress points i have had over the last few months is the fact no one will give an option or let us know what they think. I am not all knowing , nor do i claim to be. I just trow out ideas. then pepole dont like them but insted of saying something to me or giving any suggestions, they go and complain to someone else. then i get wind of it. but then i have to wounder if its something the person really belives or not.
If you have an issues with some thing i do or dont do please let me know send me a Pm a tell or drag me off into a vent channle. I want to make sure everyone is happy and haveing a good time. with that all said please read on.

I personly belive that jhy does do a great job leading the raids. one of the reasons this came up as a topic is because of all the stress orginising them and running them has put on me. I asked for it to happen.

mag just gave her own option now one elses. We spend sooo much time trying to help others that we havent been able to do any of the things we need to get done our selfs, we are a few of the guild that have not finished the 45 min run.

as far as how long it takes to get the raids started i know they take a awile, never been an a question, mostly because of pepole not showing up or having something come up last min. nothing wrong with this, this is a game, should not come before real life.

if you have heard some of the comments latly you would understand why we picked to do AQ over ZG, the biggest problem we have on the mannaroth side is the fact that we have no DPS. with all our healers on we almost have healing for a 40 man raid, but he have no DPS to kill anything, so bosses like the bat boss are not easy to do, i mean take a look we only have one mage that shows up for runs. now we have a few locks it will make it easyer. the AQ boss is move doable cuz its only 3 tanks to keep up, its the standered tank it till its dead not tank it and take all the adds 2.
one of the thoughts I had put up on the forums in the AQ topic was to go take the first boss in AQ and give the second a try, if we dont down it go repair and hit ZG, the try the second boss in AQ again the next night.

ok now that i wrote my book, the one thing i want to make sure every one knows is let me know if there is an issue.

I think it's important that everyone says what they need and want to say. I feel we need to do this if we are going to get through this little patch. I know we can all get emotional. I'm someone who gets that way. I just wanted to say it's important we talk, but it's also important that we show respect and don't aim to hurt others.

Just be aware that what you say, and whom you target, affects more than just that person. It hurts all of us. It hurts me to see people holding grudges, calling out people by name, and speaking poorly about someone behind their back.

We call ourselves a family, and it's times like these that the word is truly tested.

The one thing I dont like about forums is that, the things said on forums can be taken out of context. IE (Criticism into personal attacks) I believe the reason behind this topic of a raid leader, was to speed up the formation of raids during the raiding days. And I dont believe that the new raid leader is going to solve this problem.

The problem lies in the facts stated above that this is still a growing guild and the fact of the matter is that we dont have always have the ideal number of people showing up during those nights, and the main goal of these raid nights, is to tackle one of the larger instances AQ,ZG,MCetc. And is this that where the waiting problem lies. The raiding times start at 7:30pm eastern, and as like many growing guild, we dont always enough people. Due to reasons out of our control, many people including myself would sometimes be late to the runs. This is why we wait, till 8:00 or so before we start. And like I said, in my opinion the main goal of the raiding nights to go on the larger instances. When we break off into smaller raids such as sholo, stratetc, is because we fail to reach that amount of people.

Perhaps, we should set a date where, one day is for smaller instances, so people wouldnt have to wait too long for the smaller instances, and a day larger instances where waiting is to be expected.

guys, u mite as well close this poll too....
there is no pts as people really would like to keep the things the way they are....which means we won't be doing aq, zg, or mc.....
it was an idea that i put out there....and it seems like there are more no votes then i anticipated.....should just keep the guild the way it is....
