ZG Loot - Coins & Bijous
OK, getting the loot discussions started for ZG, figuring it's best to take this one section of items at a time.
The first on the table is the Coins & Bijous that we receive off of trash mobs. These are used both for rep boost and for turn ins for class items right now. While there are discussions on Blizzard changing this system, I'm figuring it's best for now to discuss them as they're used now and change when/if the turn-in system changes.
The third factor we need to keep in mind is boosting the rep of our designated crafters so that they can build the items needed that can only be obtained via rep from ZG.
The best route likely to go is to decide which of the separation systems to use and then refine it from there.
There are 3 basic options I see for distribution:
1. Free-for-all loot and have the guild bank hold the items for when needed.
2. Group loot until we're at a boss and just have everyone roll on them.
3. Free-for-all loot and devise a fair way to split between members in attendance on that nights raid at the end of the night.
Thoughts to consider for each:
1. How/when the guild bank should distribute the items and put them to the best use for everyone.
2. We've had issues with accidental clicking on bodies during battle, this could cause issues and slow our progress during the raid. Also those with unlucky rolling habits are placed at a severe disadvantage in collecting the items they need. Does make for very quick distribution however.
3. Depends heavily on how many we get of each coin/bijou each night. May prove tough especially until we start clearing the instance in one night. Also will need to figure how we're going to divide them.
I will post my thoughts/opinions in a following post, however I believe this outlines the options we have fairly well and choosing out of these should be our first objective.
I will place a poll here later after discussions ensue to narrow this list down to one, want to give everyone the ability to share their thoughts and read them all before voting.

My thoughts on coins/bijous:
While I believe the fairest/best option would be option #3, that may be difficult at our current point in the instance depending on how many of each coin/bijou type we are receiving per night.
If not possible at this time, I would lean more to sticking with option 1 in order to boost our guild crafter's rep at a faster pace to open up the ability for some of the items provided there, and once we're at the point we're going through the entire instance in 1 night (very doable as we get more accustomed to it), revisit going to option 2 or 3 at that time.
My reasoning behind this is that it gives us time to learn the changes that may be happening soon in this loot system, it will help us get 1 person in each catagory to the level they need to buy the recipes for the guild, and at that point most of us will be getting rep closer to the point where turning in coins benefits us most or even to the point of being able to use them for armor turn-ins.
There are a couple of exceptions to this... distribute 1 bijou to each person to get that quest out of their log (figure out which one is the most common and worth the least for this distribution), and if during that time someone reaches the required rep and has all other items needed for one of their armor pieces, they will be given the coins/etc. necessary to get their armor at that time.
These are my current thoughts, looking forward to hearing different outlooks on this topic.

Those all sound like great ideas to me. Another idea I just had, and sort of a combination of 1 and 2:
Use FFA looting with someone collecting all the coins as we have been doing. Then, at the end of the raid, take a look at how many of each type of coin we have. Everyone rolls on a type of coin and we take the top rollers for that coin.
For example: At the end of the raid we have 8 coins of type A. Everyone rolls and we give a coin to each of the 8 highest rollers. This keeps people's focus on the raid, where it should be, without the constant interruption of these coins dropping. If in the event that we get more than 20 coins of a certain type (i.e. 23), we distribute out 1 to each person, then /random 100 for the remaining 3.
The main problem with this idea is that it could become quite a pain to do all of this at the end of every raid.

I like things plain and simple. Either do
1. guildbank hold all the coins and distribute to those who have enough to turn in for their quest reward. the stuff crafted from zg is not that great imo. but the common coins can be distributed to them to rep up faster.
2. award coins to those raiding members who did not get anything during the run so they feel better :-).
u can ignore my post if it doesn't make sense.

What if we do a mix of what req and gutka are talking about.
example lets say these are the coins that droped:
Coin A = 10
Coin B= 8
Coin C = 2
Coin d =5
now what can we do with these,
first issue is that we only have 2 of coin C so we can toss thought in the guild bank to be handed out for when peps have the rep.
now there are 5 of the D coins. we can make this the base for us to pass out.
so we will be passing out 5 of coin A coin B and coin D
the extras go into the guild bank.
end of raid if you did not get any items on that run you are asked to random. take the top 5 winners.
give them coin A
ask for another random the top 5 get the B Coins
and do the same for coin D
one thing i am not sure about is if we should make it where if u won a coin then u can roll on the next set of coins or not. any ideas would be great.

I like either put all the coins in the guild bank or give them out to who ever needs them (as long as it's evened out and fair and all that). The only thing on the rolling for the coins is that what if that person constantly get a bad roll (cough jerimie). I think it might be better to do what jack says and pass out the ones that's in a even number so everybody who needs it gets one, toss the rest in the bank and then dish them out later.

Coins
The 3 rep quests are for sets of 3 coins
Set 1
Gurubashi - usable by - Druid, Hunter, Mage, Warrior, Warlock
Vilebranch - usable by - Druid, Mage, Paladin, Rogue, Warrior, Warlock
Witherbark - usable by - Mage, Paladin, Priest, Warrior, Warlock
Set 2
Zulian - usable by - Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue
Razzashi - usable by - Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue
Hakkari - usable by - Druid, Hunter, Priest, Rogue, Warlock
Set 3
Sandfury - usable by - Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Warrior
Skullsplitter - usable by - Hunter, Paladin, Rogue, Warrior, Warlock
Bloodscalp - usable by - Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warrior, Warlock
As you can see by the mixtures, choosing who gets what is made rather difficult with coins due to the combination use for rep for sets of 3 which does not correllate with classes that need them for armor. This is what is said to be changing very soon however so that these aren't made necessary for the class equipment, but that's not a sure thing. If handing out for rep though, we'd want to roll on or bank in the sets of 3 rather than individually since they're useless for rep individually.
Rolling on these sets would IMO be a good idea, bank the extras to possibly put on that week's jackpot winnings?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bijous
Bijous seem signifigantly simpler. Any 1 of them can be used for rep, the only limitations seem to be on which classes can use them for armor quests. My thought on these is narrow down to even number as trix's listing above... then on these we could easily put extras towards crafters rep since sets aren't necessary.
Coin --- Classes that Use It
Bronze --- Druid, Priest, Warrior
Gold --- Druid, Paladin, Rogue
Red --- Druid, Paladin, Warlock
Green --- Hunter, Warrior
Silver --- Hunter, Mage, Warlock
Yellow --- Hunter, Priest, Warrior
Blue --- Mage, Rogue
Orange --- Mage, Priest, Warlock
Purple --- Paladin, Rogue
Should we have characters out of classes that can use which have not gotten anything roll on these?
Sorry took so long to reply with this full info, had to search it out on my cell phone to post it up here, but now we all have the full data on how they're used.

Humm everything seems so complicated right now and I don't understand how a set would work if a class can't use all three in that set. So I think I'll 2nd brandonheat and say bank them for now especially if they are changing them. It's what we've been doing so far and no one seems to have a problem with it. We can sort them out later when they finialize what they are going to do with the coins. The blue coins seems easier so if people want to start handing those out now I don't have a problem with them. And of course by blue coins I mean bijious. I think Jerimie needs to make another guild bank just for the coins lol.

I'll have to say that I'm in agreement with Gutka in that the faction rewards a.k.a. recipes, etc. aren't that great. They're nice, but not spectacular enough for us to be this worried about the coins.
I think we should just bank them for now and if anyone honestly wants the patterns and recipes, we can hand out the coins after they start to build up in the bank. I suggest we do what Lili suggested and make a bank character exclusively for coins. After a while, once they start to build up, we could 1) choose one person from each profession, and focus on getting their reputation up. Then, after a while, start distributing them out freely. Or 2) simply pass them out to whoever wants them, as Linkie suggested.

I don't think it would be too bad of an idea to create a bank character exclusively for ZG loot, one for MC loot, etc. I'm sure Exiles is starting to get pretty overloaded.lili wrote:I think Jerimie needs to make another guild bank just for the coins lol.

BTW, a little clarification on the crafter aspect. I was referring to get 1 crafter of each craft to the rep to build the items so we had one person that could. The ones that might be more beneficial to the entire group would be the alchemy and enchanting since they create items everybody can use and that might benefit us if we get to a boss that's just giving us a really tough time and we need a boost... or when we start getting further without wiping to lessen our down time.
If we then wanted to work 1 blacksmith, 1 leatherworker, and 1 clothworker we could, but those items did not appear to be too great.
I was looking mostly at the items that distribute something like 12 mana every 5 seconds or 12 health every 5 seconds, which there is one of each in alchemy and enchanting. They wouldn't be used every time I know due to costs and farming required, but there may be situations for them.

Thanks lili for the rolling support ...Hehe "JonisRahl = lootless wonder"
I also agree that getting a alchemist and enchanter sounds the best for getting there rep up to help guild.
As for the guild bank I believe it was a wonderful idea about a Bank for each major instance I will get right to work on it.
