Congratulations on This Weekend's success

Post by Magdalena »

Congratulations on this weekend's success in MC guys! For those unaware, we had our first alliance run with KOA to MC this weekend and downed the first 4 bosses. Congratulations to all of those who participated and who won items this weekend, job well done.

We're at a little bit of a learning curve due to the fact that it was our first time raiding together and we did not have a full raid as intended. Many people at the raid were in MC for the first time or had only previously done trash mobs.

Look forward to seeing you all again this weekend, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1pm server time.

Due to the fact that it was our first run trying with a new guild, all of this weekends winnings were free rolls on epic items, however starting this coming weekend, we will begin using our loot percentages (just as a note to those that did not hear this over the weekend).

Also, we will likely be starting one of the two runs this weekend with an onyxia run. Good luck to all and hope to see you there.

Originally I was going to be able to make it on Saturday but not on Sunday this weekend, again. But now it seems that I have been called in to work once again for Saturday afternoon so I guess I'm out for both raids this weekend. Maybe I can finally hand in a 2-week notice now that my boss is back from vacation.

Congrats from Europe. 4 bosses on your first run with another guild is an awesome achievement, hope you all enjoy running MC as much as I did :thumb:

If there is anything that I can help you with to cut down your learning curve, feel free to ask me. After nearly 80 runs though MC and STNY having it down to one night clears, I would be more than happy to help.

I know that Skier and Cata would be more than willing to help you out as well.

Thanks for the encouragement and support guys! Ismona, thanks for the offer of help, we may eventually take you up on that!

So far though, the progress has been amazing guys, don't know of too many groups who have gone in and in 2 MC runs gotten to sulfuron, the 6th boss in MC.

Given there are a few that have made this run before with different groups, but the majority of the raid groups we've had has not, and the strategies those few have known have had to be adjusted in some places for the group we are taking in.

Thanks for the star performances, and keep 'em coming guys! I personally would like to see us knocking on Ragnaros' doorstep this weekend, and with the rate we're learning, I don't think that's an impossible idea. So, try to work some more on fire res gear during the week this week, and remember not to sacrifice stats too much so stick with blue fire res gear with a couple of allowed exceptions which provide significant fire res (15+) and are still fairly high level greens.

Find out if there are any blue fire res craftable items for your class and look for crafters that can make them, go to 5-man and 10-man dungeons that drop gear for you. (Incendius in BRD drops bracers for most classes).

Hunters - I know I have a couple of items for you guys, 1 is fairly easily farmable mats. (20 Thorium Bars, 4 Enchanted Thorium bars, 4 blue sapphires, and 4 essence of waters) Likely between smithing and dragonscale there are several useful items for you guys that are easy to get.

Cloth, Leather Wearers - crafters, please speak up if you've found any craftable recipes that do not require mats that come from mc... the bank is storing up mats but getting everybody will take time. Look up on thottbot.com where drops are, I know there's enough out there to get by for now, just gotta know where to look.

Plate - unfortunately this is going to be a lot of farming instances that drop your stuff, and its going to take time, but the stuff is out there.

The goal for FR right now should be:

close combat (melee) - 150 FR
ranged / casters - 100 FR

These are numbers you can stumble on fairly easily, some of you already have it or are fairly well on the way to it.

This is what we go by in STNY and it worked for us. Basically just refer to the links on the page to acquire the easier to obtain fire resist items. Here's the linkage: http://www.stny.org/guides/fire-resist/

Since pallies are usually at max range healing I'd go with a yes. You also have to take into account that the pallys will have to occassionally "get up in the grill" of the baddies to apply judgements so having good fire resist is still desirable. I recommend a minimum of 150. I noticed a big difference when I eclipsed that mark on my druid during lava packs when I didn't immediately die from a fire blossom. 150 will also help immensely for the rag fight so you can resist the knockback he does which is key when you are trying to keep the main tank topped off, not to mention keep up the dps.

Also, the Hydraxian quest is key to complete. Not only do you get a sweet FR ring out of the deal, you also get the Aquial that wil allow you summon Domo.

As for casters, yes, my priest is over 225 FR without buffs. I was able to get my hands on a pair of Flarecore Shoulders. Top that off with Helm ot Trancendence and Revered with Argent Dawn and I have nearly 70 FR from those two items.

In Rag I resist everything, more importantly, on Vael ( BWL ) I resist most as well.

Remember, you are not just building up FR for MC, you are doing it for other instances as well.

I am seriously impressed at what we have accomplished. In just four weekends of running MC we have taken down all the bosses and now are at Ragnarous.

Even in MC where one has to dodge hot lava we were playing it cool. We had four firsts for our guild on Sunday. We took out Magmadon, Sulfurus, and with our first try at Domo we downed him. Of course we all got to check out Ragnarous.

I contribute this first to the great leadership and fight instruction from Jack and QD. I am glad to have QD helping out because of all his extensive raid experience. Also, I know everyone of us was so focused and I do not think that it could have gone any better. We worked as a team and all I can say is that I am so proud to be a part of a guild with all of you great people.

Could not have said it better myself Aoiren... the accomplishments this group has mastered and the speed at which they've mastered them is truely amazing. Domo on the first try ever? Excellent leadership accompanied by great teamwork has lead to some truely amazing results. As if that weren't enough, we've been having a blast still every time.

With a little work on FR gear, I think Rag will be history very soon.

Aoiren I really thank you for your praise and support. as any of you who have ever had to run a run with more then 15 peps you know its hard to keep everyone happy. but we try our best. I my slef couldnt do it without your guys support. :D
