STNY Guild has gone.....Rest in Peace
Well, I spoke to the last of the die hards that remained in STNY and most of the people returning from summer jobs and vacations are leaving the guild as soon as they log in. The majority of them are heading to the power guilds such as Macabre, but a few are just letting thier accounts expire until the expansion comes out.
So, where does this leave us, the former members that have come here.
Well, point balnk and simple, STNY was a gaming community before we came to this game and I have every intention of trying to continue that on the STNY forums. Most have gone but I realized that those that have left are still posting and talking together.
This takes some of the sting off what had happend, and I know that at least in those conversations, we can still communicate with each other. I know that most of us do not have any hard feelings towards MOST former members, so we can still talk from time to time.
What this means for SSX is that I am going to stop reccomending people come here since most of the lighter ones are here now. All the people I invited to SSX are over the age of 25 and have either full time lives outside of the virtual, but most have families. This means that we have our priorities and for the most part they do not involve 6 hours at a computer anymore.
For the record though, there are still a few stragglers ( Catbert, Sadako and Cata ) that have still not decided on thier futures in the game world. All of them have very busy lives and are starting to rediscover them, Cata most of all.
If there is any chance that they want to get in, they all fall under the adult catagory that I have posted above, but I am pretty sure that all of them are just going to let thier accounts go for now and dial it up again later after the expansion.
Anyways, thanks for all your patience during this transition. I hope those of us that are here can help you guys out in your instances and help you further along your game while having fun at the same time.
Let the good times roll.....

So this is where you guys ran off to
, I get back from vacation (canada) and all I see left of STNY is a few floating timbers. I actually feel bad to see STNY finally sink but actually have seen it coming for a while now. It just seamed to hard to mix all of us "Old-School, play for the fun of it" Gamers with the young gun hard-core fella's and meet on any sort of common ground (so to speek). glad to see you guys found a good home (SSX) these guys seam down to earth good-ol-boys ( and girls
) playing for the same reasons most of us old timers still play "fun". Well gotta get out to cut my Hay and feed the cattle, but if ya ever need a druid to keep your butts alive dont be afraid to give me a shout.

After you are done doing god knows what to the cattle, send any of us a contact. Almost all the old schoolers that you played with are here now and would love your comapny again bud.
And BTW, if you ever go near kingston again and not invite me, I am going to swim out to your damn island and give you a wedgy that you will never forget.
After that, i am going to sit down with Witchy and make some stuff up that will have her walk over and give you another wedgy.
Miss you already Ans, please stay in touch. Give the kids a hug and say it's from your friend, the crazy Canadian that they are afraid to talk to when they are farming for you.
Can't wait for my kids to get older.....miniature chinees farmers FTW !
Oh wait, is that against child labour laws ?

To Ismona and all other former and continued members of SNTY:
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we all feel very bad about the fate of STNY. Although those of us most of you know are glad to see you fellas again, we would not wish these circumstances on anyone.
STNY was a great guild to team up with and has helped us out in more ways than you may know. Along with that, the respect and friendship shown to us by STNY was immensely appreciated. We're glad that we can offer you refuge in the SSX family and welcome you with open arms. It is, after all, the least that we can do to help and to show our gratitude. I hope that you enjoy it here and that you find what you are looking for. STNY will always have a home in SSX.
And on another note, I want to thank you guys for the help you have already given us in such a short ammount of time. It makes me just as glad to hear how much you guys enjoyed our first take-down of the 2nd boss in AQ20. And believe me, there will be many more firsts to come!
I think that we would just ask, in your bringing STNY members over to the guild, that you be mindful of what those players are looking for. While we enjoy larger raiding and challenging group events, our priorities are having fun and relieving stress. Raiding will never take precedence over this. But I'm sure you've already caught a glimse of this.
But anywho...
Welcome to the family! May your times be merry, your loot be plentiful, and your head always protected from incoming slaps.

Men standing up...interesting concept. Personally I like solid food better than the alternative
Thanks for the welcoming words & I'll try to retrain my brain away from the more hardcore aspects of warcraft but be patient with me, I was mired in trying to help run a hardcore raiding guild (albeit part time 3 to 4 days a week) so I have to lrn2play again.
Just let me know discreetly if I step over any lines or anything.

RIP STNY! I will miss thee.
I am all excited about the new SSX that includes the old school STNYers (Many of us, the Forefathers of the original gaming community of STNY). I look forward to experiencing the game with the idea of FUN in mind again.. Once I return from Vaca I will jump on and immediately start picking on Req. haha....
Glad to be here!

Well, today Skier made his feelings know on the guild website and has officlaly thrown in the towel on the guild.
Now, for the record, he has started his own bussiness and I tip my cap to him for making the right decision for his own personal life. It takes alot to realize what is important and to go after your dream. I wish him nothing but the best in both is personal life and virtual one.
So, I continue to extole the virtues of this guild to my older friends that are looking for a break from the hard core aspects of the game. While there are still a number of people that are undecided about thier futures, there is always a chance that one day we might log in and see an old familiar face.
I love those moments more than anyone realizes.
I am not trying to rebuild STNY using SSX in any way, but I am trying to strengthen the guild of old friends while trying to give my old guildmates an option. Most of these people just need a chance to remember why they started playing this game in the first place, and you have made it more fun for alot of us than we have had in a long time.
For that, SSX has my gratitude.
Anyways, I am going to stop waxing and get back to playing.
Thank you for the oppertunites you have given all of us, it's nice to enjoy the game again at a pace we can all enjoy.
