Equiping the whole guild with craftable fire resist gear can take awhile to obtain all the cores that are required. I am not sure what the bank stands at as far as cores, but since we are going to make another attempt at Rag again this weekend it might be time to do another crafting session.
Making all the possible pieces for everyone is not practical, however making one particular piece would be more inline. I can not speak for other classes but for mages, warlocks and priests the single best piece of fire res gear is the Flarecore Mantle. But even that piece requires 60 Runecloth, 4 Fiery Cores, 4 Lava Cores, 6 Enchanted Leather and 2 Rune Thread. It gets to be very expensive to make even with the guild suppling the cores and the other pieces are like that aswell.
This is probably in the works, but I guess the thing to do would be to barring the other mats see out of the core we have what is the maximum number of pieces we can make and then farm/buy the rest of the mats.
All that being said, something I noticed during our trys at Rag on Saturday. I drank a Greater Fire Protection pot before each attempt and each time I was one of the last people to fall. The Fire Pots are more important than health pots for the Rag fight. Melee probably need to have two; one for before the attempt and after the sons are down. They last an hour or until they have cancelled 1950 to 3250 fire damage and have a 2 minute cooldown time.
Right now on AH 5 Greater Fire protection pots are selling for 9G 50S. Each pot requires one elemental fire, one dream foil and one crystal vial so please do your part and farm for these items this week. If you are not a herbalist you can sometimes get dreamfoil drops off of the Tar Lords in the Crater Zone.
If you can not farm or buy the Greater Fire pots please at the least pick up the lower type Fire protection which is half as effective and requires one small flame sack, one fire oil and one leaded vial.
One last thing concerning the Rag fight. The Sons portion of the fight is all about positioning. We were going to try to pull melee out early to get into position on the last attempt, but due to a timer malfunction we did not get the 20 second Sons warning. Moving melee back sooner will mean that there will be not as much melee dps for that last bit of time before Rag goes under, but it should allow for a better chance for more people to survive the sons. Alot of the fight comes down to timing and I think if we can get some practice at downing the sons we will take out Rag with no problem.

I can make the Corehound Boots and am more than happy to do so for anyone who has the cores.
On the subject of farming. I suggest we split up into small farming group of 2-3 and spend a couple hours for at least one night and get as many mats farmed as possible. An herbalist and skinner can turn out a tidy sum of materials in a short time with just a little bit of effort and prior knowledge.
As Mike has already pointed out, we're going to need more mats than just Dreamfoil and Elemental Fire. Leather, certain shards, and fabric are just as important. There's something for everyone to farm. Even if you're too low level to visit some of these locations you can still craft items that can be disenchanted for the shards necessary to make the enchanted leather we'll need.

WPL: http://thottbot.com/?m=26440
EPL: http://thottbot.com/?m=32783
Burning Steppes: http://thottbot.com/?m=32442
Elemental Fire Locations:
Burning Exiles, Arathi Highlands (12%): http://thottbot.com/?m=275769
Entropic Beasts, Felwood (15%): http://thottbot.com/?m=361165
Various mobs, Un'Goro (6.X%): http://thottbot.com/?m=369849
Burning Exiles are an excellent mob for leveling up toons in the high 30s/low 40s as well.
It appears that farming Felwood is the most efficient for combining efforts for both elemental fire and dreamfoil. It's a heavily farmed location though so it may be better to concentrate on one item in a different location.
Rugged Leather has a 100% drop rate on the following mobs:
Black Dragonspawn: Burning Steppes
Elder Shardtooth: Winterspring
Red Wyrmkin: Wetlands
Stonelash Pincers: Silithus
Mistwing Rogue: Azshara
Numerous mobs mixed in with these drop rugged in the 50% range, usually mixed with Thick, Chimaera, Warbear, or Frostsaber Leather or various types of scales.
Burning Steppes can accomodate three or four skinning groups, one to each dragonspawn camp. The black dragonscales are also very useful for mail wearers as they're the main component of our FR set. It will take 195 scales per mail wearer to max out the set, 165 for the easily attainable (non-core mat) pieces. Winterspring can handle a ton of skinners. Nearly everything there drops Thick or Rugged Leather.
Elite dragonkin also tend to have good non-mat drops too.
Runecloth:
Felwood, the Plaguelands, BRD, Strat, Scholo, and the Twilight guys in Silithus have the highest drop % for this.

Indeed Mel.
Leather is not much my thing and I tend to work with silk and the like. It does seem that Phil is friendly with TBH and is a tribal leather worker.

Ok then, heh... having a tough time finding the elemental for the rogues it seems... and being they're next in line after warriors, has kinda put a damper on crafting.
This is the primary reason those like the tribal workers and clothcrafters havent gotten any requests... all require items gotten from MC which means they're in the bank. In being fair and working to benefit the group in the best way possible, those items have a very specific order they go in.
First had to be tanks since they're taking the brunt of the fire damage... rogues are needed to be next because they're up close and personal, taking the next highest dmg. Next priests, sitting in cloth and primary healers... tough to keep the raid alive when you're so quick to die yourselves. Next Mages for frost nova on suns. Then Locks (last of the clothies). Then Druids and Pallies, and last but not least, hunters since they're at range the entire fight and in Mail armor.
I may have forgotten something from the original list, let me know if I did guys.
Two people to check with are Liz and Jyh, they both have toons with leatherworking but not sure which type. I can never seem to remember.
If one of them is Elemental, we need to get them started on getting friendly please.
If not, since nobody else has spoken up (I've been trying to get ppl loking at tbh rep for a while
, I'd like to ask that an officer/veteran to volunteer picking up Elemental Leatherworking on one of their toons that can do this. (Preferably someone that doesnt already have another toon they're going to have to work this rep on as it's very boring and I'm certainly not looking forward to doing it with another char.)
