Resignation

Post by Bladesinger »

This weekend I gave the officers online my resignation from the officer's position. After a talk with Jerimie and Liz I was convinced to stay on a little longer. At this point I believe my original choice was the correct one.

My reasoning:
1- My thoughts and opinions are very different than those of the great majority of the other officers. While havig differences in views and opinions be a good thing for such a group I believe in this case it is only a cause of conflict and strife.

2- As an officer I've felt obligated to participate in our raids. Anyone who's known me for more than a couple months knows that I really don't like raiding and would rather not do it. I have far more fun questing or playing in 5 and 10 member groups. Leaving my position removes the feeling of obligation and allows me the choice of attending or not attending a raid as I see fit at any particular time.

3- The choice for me is either resign my position or stop playing WoW with SSX. I'm not ready to do leave the guild quite yet.

<edit> After taking more time and going back over messages a couple more times I must apologize. I took comments out of context which lead me to misunderstand what some people were saying. There's no need for blood. </edit>

The SSX means more to me than a simple game. I've seen games come and go as a Shattered Star. I've seen members come and go with those games. I'm not one of those people. This is not a group I have randomly come across in game and chosen to play with at this immediate time. I bought this game because the Shattered Star had a group participating in it. To play a multiplayer game and not be part of the Shattered Star participation in that game has a great deal of significance for me and is not a choice I will make lightly.

Thank you to all of the officers who placed their confidence in my judgement and personality however long ago it's been. I've enjoyed being a part of the group and hope I've made some positive impact in that time. It's time now, however, for me to take my leave.

I've received enough direct and not so direct messages from members and officers encouraging me to take the latter choice. I'm not ready to do that quite yet.
Name names, if nothing else privately. That shit don't fly here, you know that Phil.

Amen. Come find me in the real time chat venue of your choice.

I want names. If that's true, I want blood.

Where would you be if it weren't for all the druids' help in World War III?!

No names will be given to anyone. Those people who have made the insinuations and/or suggestions know who they are and that's that. As far as I'm concerned they are the least of the reasons for my decision. Certain matters are now resolved to my satisfaction by this and, to be selfish, that's all I care about right now.

By not telling me who they are, they get a free pass to do it again. Not doing so is a disservice to you, to me, and to the next person who gets railroaded by someone else here.

Sadly, I cannot make you tell me. That is also not how it works. But something tells me people who make those insinuations are the ones who don't deserve to be here, and leaving them in the shadows isn't fair to the rest of us.

Oh well. Find me on AIM or IRC. Convince me I don't need to know. I've "known" you for a long time, so, I will have to defer to your judgement, but I want some more one on one clarity.

Phil, you know I am one of your biggest supports in all this...you need to do what you need to get the game being fun again. If that means taking some time way, it is understandable. You will be missed but I truely understand why you must get away. Love you Bro and i am here for you always :(
