Weekend raiding, post-expansion

Post by requiemdreamer »

I'm just trying to gather a bit of insight as to what everyone's plans are in game for when the expansion comes out. Mostly with respect to what we, as a guild, will want to do no the weekends during our regularly scheduled raiding times.
Blizzard wrote:Hellfire Citadel, located in Outland's starting zone will be the expansion's first and easiest dungeon. Blizzard recently revealed this dungeon will be mostly populated by fel orcs and will feature three 5-person winged instances and a raid encounter ending with the Pit Lord, Magtheridon. The three five man instances are Hellfire Ramparts, The Blood Furnace, and Shattered Halls.

Hellfire Ramparts is populated by fel orcs from the Shattered Hand clan and Bleeding Hollow clan, and has 3 bosses: Watchkeeper Gargolmar, Omor The Unscarred, and Vazruden The Herald, which is actually Vazruden and his dragon mount Nazan. Killing each boss yields Thrallmar or Honor Hold reputation and a powerful item.
The question becomes... Would people rather be questing and lvl'ing instead of raiding? Do we want to continue raiding MC and/or BWL? Do we want to split raids up into groups of 5 to try Hellfire Citadel and regroup the raid for attempting Magtheridon?
There will be a lot of new and exciting things going on with this expansion and it would probably be best to decide before-hand if we need to make changes to our weekend raiding agendas.

I, for one, am really excited about all of the new content facing us and would like to see all of us working through it together. :thumb:

I think I'll wait till I see what BC is like before I put my two cents in for that question.

I was thinking more than likely to be doing a bit of both. Would like to see MC still but would also like to level and quest a bit as well. Not a problem really since I do that now with my alts anyway, it's just that now I can get Ax exp again.

Ok I have been playing the expansion for just a little bit and if not for me grinding heavy in PvP for the GM set, I would be completely outfitted in greens and blues now. And I am having a tough time even now deciding if I want to replace the GM gear.

The Outland gear from the beginning quests is just..wow. Better than T2 gear minus the set bonuses and much easier to get.

I am seriously impressed with the expansion. Not for the gear but the whole package.

63 and loving it atm, absolutely in love, Zangarmarsh and Terokar forest are both beautiful, Nagrand is even prettier and Netherstorm is so outta this world.

In PvE at the very least, I am really enjoying my PALADIN TANKING as well, I tank almost as effectively as a warrior with 0 points in my prot tree atm (vs a warrior with 0 points in prot :P).

When I cap out after I start raiding and go full prot I'm going to love it... so much.
They finally fixed my pally, I can do what I was meant to do!

I took the day off tomorrow :), hoping that the lag during the day isn't as bad as the lag at night.

Nagrand is purty, and I think I'm going to LIVE in Halaa.
