The Misadventures of Ozgafen Silverleaf

So there I was, roaming Malenhad looking for goblins to kill because some cagey Elf in the North Downs wants me to bring her their sulfur-encrusted boots that she SAYS she can use to create some silly piece of equipment for me but I suspect she really wants them because she has a bizarre shoe fetish like my sister who has WAY too many shoes as it is and is making my brother-in-law build out additional closet space at their place in Mirkwood just for her extra shoes instead of the game room he always wanted, what a bitc

Wait, what was I talking about? Oh yes, thats when a statue appears looming on the horizon. That looks pretty damn scary I say to myself, I wonder what that is doing out here in the middle of the Angmar National Sulfur Water Park and Wildlife Preserve? Then, I see the orcs behind the statue..

ORCS!!!!! DIE YOU FOUL SPAWN OF SAURON!!!!!! CHAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGE!!!!!!!

*zap*

wtf?

Time passes

Oh, so THATS the Invisible-Fence-O-Insta-Death (IFOID)!

Editors Note: I have heard there are others who after experiencing the IFIOD for the first time did not trust the results and ran through it a few more times just to make sure what happened was supposed to happen. It is perfectly understandable to assume that a bug fix ticket was opened by that player and a Dev asked the player to give it a try again just to make sure the system was working properly, which of coarse it was and the Dev had a great time relating the experience to his cronies over a lunch of hot pockets and Mountain Dew about how That silly Syro, I made him kill himself TWO MORE times before he finally figured it out and stopped doing it! *mocking laughter ensues*

On the day he was born his parents looked at him and said He looks smart, maybe hell be a Lore Master!

When he turned 10, and after burning down the play room for the second time, his parents looked at him and said That didnt work out so well, lets give him a lute.

On his 20th birthday, and after playing so badly that the local animals wouldnt come near their house any more, his parents looked at him and said Music must not be for him, lets put a bow in his hands.

Upon reaching 30 years of age, and after shooting out the windows of the house for the HUNDREDTH TIME! his parents looked at him and said OK, fine, put a sword and shield in his hands.

Once his 40th year arrived, and after having tripped over his shield too many times to count, his parents looked at him and said Thats it, no more! Just give him two swords, hope he doesnt cut both his ears off, and be done with it!

And thus, Ozgafen Silverleaf, the Champion from Rivendell, was born!

Hey remember that one time when you were finally able to buy a steed? You were so happy when you had gathered enough money and had completed all the tasks the horsemaster had for you. And then you went a bought a little pony! You couldn't even sit on it without your feet dragging on the ground.

What? That want you? I know I know someone who did that. I wonder who that was...

The first time I experienced IFOID, Bo had summoned me with an acorn (All Hail the Mighty Acorn!) into EM. It wasn't until about 15-20 minutes later that I died. It took me a few minutes to piece it together, and the group was asking why I wasn't coming back to them. I sheepishly explained my situation and bowed out of the group. And I thought I had found a loophole...

One day, Beuford, the Team Captain for the Misty Mountain Wargs, gathered a few of his teammates around him and said We need to get in one more hockey practice before our big game against those upstarts from the Bruinen Source next week. Lets head down to Caldwell Pool and assemble the rest of the team. I may even be able to get a goblin buddy of mine to come down and ref for us.

After a few hours of practice Phillip looks up and sees a group of humanoids running towards them, I say Chauncy, they dont look too friendly

Elves and men says Chauncy, sniffing the air.

Ever since about 4 months ago we cant seem to get a moments peace! growls Beuford.

As the newcomers approached the edge of the frozen lake, Beuford bellows Hey! We have the ice, you are just going to have to wait until we are d.

*WHAM* *SLICE* *BASH* (The rest has been edited due to violent imagery not suitable for those under the age of level 35)

Hey look at this guys! says Ozgafen, holding up a long stick with a crooked end. I wonder what a warg is doing with a hooked staff? says Syro as he bends down to skin the hide off the carcass. Meanwhile, Sidewinder proceeds to lop the head off the goalie and referee in one swing of his great axe.

And thus ends the short lived careers of the MM Wargs.

The Book 10 patch introduced a whole new level of violence in LOTRO with blood splattering. I can see how this may have affected the masses and in particular, Ozzy.

One day, Fluffy, the Team Captain for the Misty Mountain Abominable Snowmen, met up with his team on the ice near Bruinen Source. He calls the meeting to order and says I am sure by now everyone has heard about the tragedy that occurred down at Caldwell Pool the other day. There was much mumbling in response and someone shouted Its the humanoids, they are everywhere these days!

Now, now, lets not jump to conclusions. Its entirely possible that the report was wrong and they may have just run afoul of a maddened cow. replied Fluffy. Either way, we now need to schedule a new opponent for next weeks game, any suggestions?

How about the North Downs Specters? They have a halfway decent team, even if they are mostly dead. says Snuggles.

I think the Angmar One-Arms would be a better choice. They are always short handed and I hear their Big Arm is out with a hang-nail so it should be an easy win! suggests Fuzzy.

We really need a better challenge than the One-Arms, Fuzzy. What we really need is. What in the heck is that??? says Fluffy, pointing down the hill towards three humanoids running towards them making a horrendous racket and knocking Snuggles senseless.

The one holding the long pole yelled something at Snuggles that sounded French, maybe they are a visiting team from Canada? offers Fuzzy.

Either way, this is a private team meeting so lets get rid of th

*TWANG* *SHOUT* *SLICE* (The rest is omitted to protect the privacy of the survivors, few that there were)

Only 86 more to go! says Gandalor as he removes his weapon from the slumped corpse of the snow beast at his feet.

That shouldnt take long at all since they seem to congregate near this frozen lake so often! exclaims Ozgafen.

Meanwhile, Jeredocs bow *TWANGS* for the hundredth time and an arrow sticks in the backside of an itchy snow beast standing nearby.

Yet one more page is closed in the lives of the folks of the Misty Mountains.

It all started innocently enough. Syro suggested we all meet up at the Prancing Pony and by the time I get there Dwar, Mariwen, Wulfsmark, Syro and Lee have already arrived. As I enter the inn I hear Lee, Dwar and Syro chanting DRINK DRINK DRINK DRINK!!!!! as Mariwen and Wulfsmark pound another round of Barlimans Best. After a few minutes of bleary-eyed staring around the room Mariwen notices me and says OZZZZZZ!!! Yosh gottha hash a trink! Not wanting to upset the delicate balance now established in the fellowship I oblige to have Just one.

A little while, and a few pipes, later as I contemplate how rough the floor boards in Barlimans inn are I hear Syro declare Lets go people, that slime ridden filth isnt going to kill himself!

Awwww, I wash jusht shtartin to habe shume fun says Mariwen as she is pulled from a deep embrace with Mr. Butterbur. Mrth. Buttherbur ith cominth down tha stairsh anywath, leths go! exclaimed Wulfsmark as the group gathered around Syro to prepare for the long, yet swift, trip to Northern Angmar.

Things seemed to go somewhat better after this as our intrepid group fought through many palefolk, uruks, men and slugs. Upon encountering the morivals however I started to beer-goggle and say things like Wow, youre pretty, come here often? *wink*

After taking care of squidys bath attendants we jump down to have a go at the big slime ball himself. Just as his filth covered tentacles emerge from the foul waters I decide it is the perfect time to lay down and take a little nap. A few minutes later, and after the minor protests of my companions, I wake up to discover that we are under attack! After the first wave of battle is over we charge down the fallen column to hack at the source of the putricity. Retreat! The column is going to collapse!! yells Syro and we all run back to the next column where a new growth of tentacles has emerged. During the battle I hear Mariwen exclaim Im out of power! Drink a potion!! says Syro to which Mariwen responds Ive drunk too much, I cant drink any more.

With a little extra effort these tentacles are finally dispatched and the column they were surrounding collapses into the water. Just as we began to head down the columns length to renew our attack against the squid, Wulfsmark, who is still feeling the effects of a good smoke and a few too many beers, thought it might be a good idea to run a little too close to the edge of the column and fell into the corrosive water below thus killing herself. Oh, no, Wulf DIED! I cry out. It was at this moment that Mariwen, trying to valiantly save her friend, tripped over her own feet and fell in the water as well.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I scream as I charge down the column ahead of Lee and Dwar to hack at our tormentor.

A tentacle whips out at me and then the world went black

I awake to find myself back in Bree with Dwar, Syro and Lee all high-fiving each other while Lee holds the putrid slime aloft and says Heres to Pale and his advancement in the Loremaster arts!!

Yet another successful SSE mission accomplished in the face of Saurons minions and overwhelming adversity!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Wulfsmark!

Hey everyone, look, I have an Ozga-fan!!!!

Well, 1.5 Ozga-fans actually if you include Bink!

The more I think about it, and that tends to be where most of the trouble starts, I should add a disclaimer or two in front of these stories to prevent any further tears or potential injury, something like .

WARNING!!!! Do not drink while reading this post, serious nostril trauma may occur!!!

No coneys were harmed during the writing of this post. A few were taken to the hospital while the events related here-in were being carried out, however. One died tragically while trying to cross the Greenway during rush hour but that isnt my fault since I tried to stop my horse to let it pass safely but since I picked the cheap-ass option of swift travel to Thorins Gate I was not in control of my horse at the time.

If you can read this you are sitting too close to your monitor!

Reading this post may cause undue embarrassment to yourself or others.

Objects in forum may appear funnier than they were originally in-game. and if not, you had to be there.

The coneys name was Fluffy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends in their time of grief. A memorial dinner will be served in the Prancing Ponys backroom at 7pm Tuesday. Menu items include Shire Potato Salad, Roast Coney, Coney Stew, Coney-Pot-Pie, Rack of Coney with a Mountain Basil Glaze, Barlimans Best and Shire Pie (guarantied rancid-fruit free).

This post in no way claims to be funny, clever, anecdotal, engaging or entertaining and anything printed here-in that may seem that way is a mere coincidence.

Dont drink and attempt to acquire putrid slime!

Update New items have been added to the Fluffy Memorial Roast menu! These include Rotisserie Coney, Coney-Kabobs, Coney Stuffed Cabbage and Hasenpfeffer.

It is better to be cleaver than to be shorter than a hobbit.

I am not sure why that was supposed to be funny but it seemed funny at the time it was written.

I really need to stop drinking before I sit down and write these.

HEY! I HAVENT HAD TOO MUCH TO DRINK AND I CAN TIPE PARFACTLIE FEEN!

I AM NOT YELLING, I JUST CANT FIND THE CAPS LOCK KEY. oh, there it is

Now coming to a township near you its BFC, Bree Fried Coney, proudly serving regular and extra crispy legs, thighs and feet of coney since 1361 (by Shire reckoning). Side items include Hard Biscuits, Mashed Taters and Gravy, Mushroom Pie, Comb Slaw and Vegetable Medley. Bring the whole family, free rabbit ears for the kids!

Why do I get the feeling that Mariwen is not going to throw any heals my way anytime soon.
