Your Input on Member / Officer Status

Post by Syro »

This is another opportunity for all of us to be open and honest with each other. Communication is an important priority for me!

As always... if anyone wants to share something with me in private, then I am available to listen in-game, through in-game e-mail, or PM's on the forums. My door is always open to hear your ideas, feelings, joys, and pain. Anything shared with me in private will remain private unless I receive your permission to voice it publicly.

About members...

Members are the life of our SSX friendship. They are equals in-game and in-life with officers. They are trusted friends who everyone enjoys having in a fellowship. Their attitude, respect of others, and willingness to contribute to the kin are key to our mutual success and fun.

About officers...

Officers are members who have the additional responsibility of serving the kin at all times while trying to balance their own needs for fun and enjoyment within the game. They are trusted servants and not elite lords. They are friends who demonstrate a consistently positive attitude, respect for others (in-game and in real life), and a willingness to contribute to the advancement of our kin life at all times. Nothing special about them!

The discussion...

Is everyone comfortable with the member and officer status as it stands today? Does anyone think we need additional officers? Why or why not? This is an open discussion and any idea or thought is welcome! I would like to hear from everyone in some way.

Thank you in advance. :)

I agree with your view on what the role of those with officer positions is. It's pretty much consistant with how the position is used for in other games as well. Officers are there with additional responsibilities to the guild, though usually as moderators, or in some cases, role models.

I haven't been in the game long enough to know how daily member population is so keep in mind my observation is based on a short term experience. I would say that there isn't any current need for additional officers. There is usually one around to take care of any technical game issues, such as adding new members and whatnot, and to assist with any problems current members may run across. Not to mention the gazillion other things I'm sure they volunteer their services for. :)

If it turns out that this is not the case, and that there are long periods of time without an officer available, then adding a few more may be called for. Another case would be if the current members in the officer role are feeling overwhelmed.

Keep in mind that enjoying the game is a top priority, and we don't want anyone to burn out. If an officer feels like the game is turning into a job, please step down. There will always be others willing to take up the role and help out as you have, and appreciation for a job well done for the time you volunteered. Obligation is always a gamekiller.

My 2 cents.

By the way, for anyone who volunteers for an officer role, don't be surprised about being asked if you're a masochist ;)

[WoW] This type of games should be up dated as soon as possible. Because there are many people that ere very found of such games. As these are very help full for make the brain power full and strong. So, mentaly strongness is the need of this presant era.
