Kinship House / Hall Tonight (10/24/07) at 8 PM Central

Post by Syro »

We will purchase our kinship house tonight around 8 PM Central / 9 PM Eastern so everyone who wants to be there can be there. If there is any reason that we should purchase it sooner or if we should wait longer, then please post a reason here. Thanks!

Here was the actual vote of interested folks...

4 votes for Elf District

Ardrake
Wulfsmark

More peeps are welcome and encouraged to add their input here because the kin house location is not etched in beryl even though it has been purchased and paid for until December. I will gladly sell and repurchase for us if warranted.

I personally opted for the Elf district because the design and landscape is something that we can be proud of as a kin. It offers the quick access to the vault and a Provisioner (Bree district had quicker access and was my second choice).

Yes, the dwarf district is convenient to get to Thorins Hall but we can all map to a major swift travel location and pay 1s to get to Thorins. The dwarf district was dark and drab in my view. Some will like its melancholy feel. I did not. Currently, we will leave it to the individual to purchase a house in the dwarf district if someone wants a map to Thorins.

I was leaning heavily toward Bree as my 1st or 2nd choice because it would provide convenient access to lower level toons and perhaps give us greater server visibility as a kin. I did not like the building design as much as the Elf district, but one spot on the the hill overlooking the entire neighborhood would work nicely.

Thank you for everyones feedback! As always, I do listen to you and greatly appreciate your input.

I will create a separate post on member vs. officer permissions at the kin house.

I love the elf district :) It will also give you access to low levels (elf and dwarf prologues start there).

Is there a quest or something to buy an individual house, is it somethign i nca hop on and just do?

No quests to buy a house. Yes, you can hop on and do it.

You can buy from a broker outside the instance (neighborhood) or you can go into the instance and buy one with a "For Sale" sign in the front yard.

It took me a little over an hour to go look at all the housing options, and I had a tour guide. It would have taken me a few hours to figure out the various housing locations on my own.
