Yea i know its been a long time since ive been on. Well it might be even longer now. Im being told now that i have a problem and that the evil company that made this game and all the petifiles that play it are manipulating me and brainwashing me. I was told this by my mother who watches doctor phil. so i still dont have my computer and i was forced to delete world of warcraft. I still have my account but i cant play. It might be a long long time or forever if i ever get to play again. So thankyou everyone for everything and godbless. I will still get on here and talk to you guys and read about the game though.

Ah! Good Ole Doc Phil. Remember when I was younger, pre-computers, used to play (a lot) Dungeons and Dragons (on paper, with dice). My Mom heard that, along with Ozzy Osbourne, it was creating serial killers. My Dad had a very religious friend who was also a very high end computer engineer with two kids and couldn't believe they let me play such a satanic game!

One day, as he was intelligent enough to be open minded, this guy asked me about it, so I broke out the books. He was astounded at what I was learning about mathematics, statistics, and the folklore of so many cultures (all D&D creatures were initially based on mythos). We sat and he actually rolled a character and I ran him through a scenario. He was fascinated, couldn't understand the hype and actually asked if I could teach his kids to play.

Granted WoW does chain people to their desks and its not exactly the same, but perhaps look into the lore of warcraft and explain? There are so many literary references (e.g. the Murlocs are directly out of H.P. Lovecraft). Haven't done much of looking into myself, this is a release for me, but am sure there is a lot of fantasy, thus legends, thus cultural overviews (many I've noted) buried within the game.

Might be a leverage point. Anyways, just my 2c.

Sorry to hear your mother has listened "Dr" Phil. I to remember when DnD was Satan but my mother moved past that when she understood more about it. Hope things work out for you Spenc. We will be missin ya. Take care of your school though it is important so that when you are out you can pay to play again lol.

yea i know it sucks i mean ive been saying it on vent for years. "My mother is flipping crazy" and well yea there it is. lol i dont plan on quitting forever but i am on a break for school and what not. im sure i can sneak a way on eventually. YOU HAVENT SEEN "OR HEARD" THE LAST OF SPENCER.

Look for Lovecraft's stories of Dagon (even a recent film of it, good stuff) - specifically look for (story wise) 'The Shadow over Innsmouth'.
