Strike Three!

Post by Ambush »

....

So here we go again.

My 3rd 360 has got the 3 red lights which means I have to send it in again.

So I will be out for around 2 weeks or so.

Microsoft gave me Forza 2 for free because its my 3rd 360 that I have had to send in so at least they compensated me. Which is funny cause the rep I was talking to told me he is on his 4th one :shake: .

The first two I had standing up in my audio cabnet. The 2nd on I constantly had a fan blowing just in case it was overheating and it still went.

This 3rd one I had laid straight down flat and I always kept checking the back to feel the temp of the air blowing out to see if it was overheating(just in case); it was always a nice room temp breeze. I dont block the air vents either.

The first time around they asked me numerous questions and asked to remove the HDD, see if power light is red or green, etc etc. This time they didnt ask anything and just asked me to pack it up and wait till the free box arrives.

I bought the Halo Edition version and I haven't had any problems yet thank goodness. But my cousins co worker had to get 10, thats right TEN different 360's before he told MS that they can keep his last one since he is gonna go buy himself a PS3.

Yeowch. Not good. Hope it gets repaired and back to you as quick as possible Ambush :(

Mine has been ok for me so far luckily, and I'm hoping it'll remain so - but that may be a bit naive. Unfortunately I just don't see the stability problems being solved any time soon :(

Actually they are. The Elite 360's and supposedly the halo edition xbox's are sporting new tech to considerably reduce the 3rod. And MS has been pretty good about takin care of folks with issues related to that.

Yeah, I heard this as well. It makes me pretty angry that they decided to make you pay $80 extra for the stable hardware, though. I wonder when they're planning to fix the versions that people actually buy.
