Upcoming LBRS Weekend (WoW:EU)

Following the successful Dire Maul weekend that we've just had, Illandria is organising another weekend full of fun. This time it'll be a weekend in Lower Blackrock Spire (Friday 15th July - 17th July).

Hopefully we will manage to set the guild up with another keyholder or two for the Upper spire, or at least work our way towards that. As well as lots of cool drops along the way.

If you're lvl 58+ and interested, plz mail Illandria ingame and put your name down!

World of Warcraft achieves new milestone with two million paying subscribers worldwide

Blizzard Entertainment today announced that World of Warcraft, the company's highly acclaimed subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has surpassed two million paying subscribers worldwide*. As the game's worldwide population continues to grow, so does the game itself: Blizzard recently introduced the highly anticipated player-vs-player (PvP) Honor System and the game's first two Battlegrounds, Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. These new PvP battlefields offer a variety of fast-paced combat and some of the most valuable rewards yet seen in the game...

Sneak peak of the next World of Warcraft patch

Here's a little sneak peak of some of the great things we can expect in the next WoW patch. Player vs Player Honor System: Players will have access to items and equipment by achieving rank in the PvP Honor System.

Along with new honor system will be new mounts, new armor sets & new weapons!

Gurubashi Arena Event: There is now a regular event in Gurubashi Arena in Stranglethorn Vale. Every three hours starting at midnight, a pirate will drop a chest in the center of the arena. The player who opens the chest first gets what's inside!

Elemental invasions: Elementals will invade different locations on Kalimdor every few days. Players can investigate Silithus, Un'Goro Crater, Azshara and Winterspring to seek for ways to counter these invasions.

Info was gathered from the WoW Under Development page.

World of Warcraft Europe Release

Blizzard Entertainment today announced that World of Warcraft will officially release in Europe on Friday, 11th February, 2005. The game will be available for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and Macintosh in English, French and German. There will be a standard edition, containing the game on four CD-ROM disks, and a collector's edition with a plethora of included World of Warcraft memorabilia. Both versions will be fully localised into English, French and German, and will also be available with a Spanish or Italian box and manual.

With the launch less then two weeks away, the European infrastructure is in the final stages of preparation. The second phase of the Final Beta has been launched, more than doubling the number of players in the game, making World of Warcraft bigger than the current and entire European MMORPG market. In addition, just prior to launch, the existing servers will be taken offline and wiped clean, which will erase all current accounts and characters. This will help us to ensure that the game launches in the best possible conditions and also means that all players will start afresh on an even footing.

Blizzard Entertainment would like to thank all those players who are currently testing the game and would appreciate your continued support of the Final Beta up until launch!
