Only thing is, if we make it short by SSS it kinda sounds to me like the Nazi SS. anyway that was the first thing that came to my mind when i read it. That's what I thought too. That, and there's no way in hell I'm paying 800ms points or whatever to make my name match the group again. That, and som...

And today it is back - defective motherboard apparently, which has been replaced. That means I got my console back and don't have to deal with their DRM tool to move my Live stuff as my seriel number's the same. My MAC had changed (which given that they'd replaced the mobo I should have expected) - ...

For some reason the two children upstairs have managed to create an impenetrable layer in my stomach - no matter how much beer I drink... I still remain only slightly drunk.

Yup, it's not three red lights, just one at the bottom-right.

It's actually a pretty common problem and seems to be down to the soldering of parts.

MS seem to get sales data on each Xbox - so they know when a particular serial number was sold. Reason I say that is I only registered it a month or two ago, but it knew how old it was, when I'd bought it and when the warranty was due to expire. With that, you could probably register your Xbox for r...

RLOD E74. Thar she blows.

Boxing Day night. Kids are in bed. Armoured Core For Answer on the XBox. GIR retires for the night, I see her to bed... I return and launch my next mission. Only the graphics have gone stripey. Bugger. Shut down, let it cool off a while in case it's overheated for some reason, turn on and I get a bo...

Happy birthday Eddybabes! Hope the nipper let you get some kip for once :D

(It's insane - pre-kids, birthdays meant beer, parties, or at least a hefty gaming session. Post-kids, your first thought at the idea of a day off tends to be "sleep"....)

Annoying how you can now only use half of the screen, isn't it?

Cheers for that, MS - all the wallpapers I had on the old dash look crap now... including proper themes!

Cos!

I'd suggest Lore: Invasion, but that was recently turned off :(

www.loreaftermath.com is the site of the sequel, currently in beta. Get yourself on the beta list at Instant Action and I'm sure some of us can do some prodding to get you in.

Good to see you - it's been too long :)

Well, had the meeting with the headteacher and the chair of the school governors this morning. Started off by saying that I accepted I could have handled things better, but that in my defence I'd just pulled my son off a lit firework. I also said I hoped there was no personal animosity between us, a...

What was the damage to the people from the fireworks? Manny was bumped, a pregnant woman and a little boy had medical attention (dunno to what degree). One woman was hurt as the crowd leapt back. Countless children were in hysterics. We've had a generic letter sent out with the kids when we picked ...

Son hit by fireworks - school tries to have me arrested

We were at an organised firework display tonight at my 4yr old son's school. So... firework hits the barrier in front of us, bounces off and goes bang. I start thinking "we need to get out of here". Next thing another firework hits our son on the leg and lands between his feet. I just grabbed him, d...

I did once pay for GIR's via the credit-card option on the XBOX itself, however that starts a subscription that you cannot actually cancel without looking elsewhere on the web, finding their phone-number and calling them personally.

If you can sign-up online, you should be able to cancel online too.

Geometry Wars - Which weapon?

Just a casual poll to see which weapon's your favourite, "shotgun" (high density, slow refire) or "machinegun" (low density, high refire)?

I'm a machinegun fan myself, though the shotgun's very good at dealing with those annoying purple-pink ones that split into two or three smaller ones.

And it all seems so reasonable. The end times are indeed upon us. No objections. I've been a global mod or admin since the old days, but can't really remember ever moderating - never really my style. Good idea to open the windows and air out the place. Don't want it growing musty. Ditto, I've been ...
