OK because this topic was brought up again i would like to point out what happened with this topic back when it was first posted. this topic started on 9-31. The officers decided to bring this topic to the forums. after we brought the topics to the members the vote was not to change how we do our loot system. this was a vote of all the members who had forewarning of the meeting of those who attended a majority of them voted against changing it. so it was left the same.
We were asked to bring up this topic again over this last weekend. so we decided to have a post that will come out tomorrow on this subject. I ask that a mod would please lock this topic, so the new posting concerning this can have a fair chance for all members of the guild to talk and decided on.
I ask everyone to remember that the officers do not run this guild the members do. The officers are the people who you can go to if there are issues so we can see if they can be resolved. even if all officers believe something should be changed it can not be unless the majority of the guild vote for it to be so. we can not please everyone but we try and do what the majority wants.

Hiya, I have not been around in a long while, but this statement here kinda bothered me. So, I thought I would take a crack at helping out.
Why should an Alt not get a chance at a piece of loot ? Nothing personal, but these people with alts have gone to the trouble of leveling them up only to be cut out at the end of it ? Sorry, not cool.
First off, 40 man instances are all about the group, not the individual. If you are there only for loot, you are there for the wrong reason, big time wrong with this guild. This guild is about fun, friendship and haveing a good time. It is starting to look like some are forgetting that.
Now, as for loot and how alts factor into the equation.
If a person is on an "alt" and has attended over 100 raids and a "main" who has been on only 20 or 30 raids, why should the "alt" be restricted ? The person who has attended more raids on both mains and alts should be allowed to roll, quite simply because they have given alot to the guild in both time and effort.
How about this....
If a Person is on an "alt" because he is so tiered of running the same instance all the time on thier "main"....why should the be punnished ?
Or possibly this....
If a person is on an "alt" because they are short of a class for a specific raid, and the officers asked them to run, why should they not be able to roll ?
Not trying to annoy or complicate matters more than they already are, but there are reasons why people are on Alt's instead of Mains ( as they are oft to be called ). If you add restrictions to rolling on items, you are only going to piss off current and long standing members and you are going to wind up in the exact situation that you are heading for now.
People looking to start removing characters from the guild to avoid potential problems...or in this case, not running at all as sort of a strike.
I still believe, as I did when I made my post here a month or so ago, that Officer Merrit is the way to go. It speeds up the loot distribution considerably and it will be better for everyone in the end.
Oh, and if you are stressing over digital property, you have to unplug and go get some sunlight....getting angry over loot for a game and damaging current and potential friendships is not worth it at all.

I do promise to elaborate further, but for now I'm still quite stressed over the situation that occured Friday night and repeated itself on Saturday.
This needs to be resolved one way or another before I'll be able to raid again. There are enough stressful things going on in my life that I for one cannot cope with additional negativity caused by a game.

I don't see a problem with alt rolling on items, however it does becoming a problem it is hindering guild progression. Say if something like the a really good T2 item, for example the Drillborer Disk, a warrior main should priority over a warrior alt. In the same case a Prot warrior should get priority over a fury or arms warrior.
