Use for cores and core leather

Post by Magdalena »

Ok, the next in line by the guide was supposed to be a rogue due to close proximity etc, but being the oddballs that we are, we haven't had a rogue that's been showing up consistently for this, and (correct me if I'm wrong Jeremie) I think we've got enough items to build at least 1, possibly 2 pieces for this weekend's run.

My first nomination on this would be for yukirina, she's gone prot spec now so tanking on a lot of the add fights etc and will be right up in rag's face, and has been there for like every run for some time now. This is where I see it would benefit the entire group most, and have been thinking on this for some time now. After that, go to the next class on the rotation list for the next piece, etc. I'm basically posting to see what everybody else thinks about this, obviously I think most realize we've got to choose a method that's both fair and benefits further progression the most. As most of you know, but to inform those that don't, most guilds' strategy is to first deck out the MT for this since it's what will get them the furthest overall, being the designated tank, I didn't like this very much as I didn't find it fair to everybody else but also saw the reasoning for it, so Trix and I have worked to get most of the stuff for me outside of the guild bank, off the AH, etc for some time now. I have the helm, boots, and legs from this with only 2 cores contributed from the bank total, which I think with librams is enough to hold off some so the rotation can start elsewhere. I'd highly recommend starting with helms/legs where possible so people can work on getting a libram of resillience for it for a very nice boost in FR. (Wouldn't recommend wasting the libram on anything short of this, as other pieces, including set pieces, may have FR but will be much more valuable in your non FR set and have other librams you can add to them for that set that will serve you better in a non FR fight.)

Also, Trix, if you could post up that class rotation guide you found, would be much appreciated and put a halt on some of the questioning surrounding this subject. Thank you baby. :)

Theoretically I'll be able to make Corehound Boots and Corehound Belts in the future. I believe Mirra and Serenie are both Tribal leatherworkers as well and are probably farther along with TB than I.

Right now my main priorities on Mannoroth are 1) making sure my brother continues to play on this server, and 2) getting people leveled and getting them their set gear . I'd rather not spend all of my time farming reputation and materials. I'll do it if you need me to though.

What I need the most is Wildvine. That's a horrendously slow drop and I need between 6-10 per each of my current Tribal patterns. Thick leather would be nice too, but that's much easier to procure.

After some talking with some other individuals I, personally, feel that it would be best for the further progression of our MC raids as a whole if we were to focus on gearing up our main tank first and foremost. Seeing how you, Magdalena, are already pretty much in this position, it would be nice to see you with 315 Fire Resistance and your full Might set. (How many more pieces do you need?)

However, I realize how much this would be asking of the rest of our warriors. So it would really depend on how much everyone agrees or disagrees with this. It's my personal opinion that designating a main tank and focusing on getting them geared up will get us to where we want to be and speed up the process. Also, once the MT collects most of their set pieces, they would be passing on all those pieces when they drop again.

This is, of course, just my opinion and merely a suggestion.

I totally agree with Req, gearing up our MT is more important with our progress through MC. MT lives longer, better chance for the raid group to down bosses. However, keep in mind of secondary tank as well - Yukirina.

In response to how far I have to go on might set, the answer is that I am halfway there. I have 4/8 pieces of might (have head, chest, bracers, belt) as far as FR gear, I have 3 of the pieces, helm, boots, legs and have put a libram ob helm and legs.
Gearing up MT in might pieces with current loot system however is not plausible with the alliance. This would require a different loot style agreement with KoA for tanks in order to be effective, which I don't personally see being an easily agreed upon thing. Also, while most of our warriors will likely understand this, I'm not sure all of theirs would.

This is a very sticky situation to try and discuss even if it were full SSX on these raids, and gets exponentially more difficult when involving an alliance raid. This is why I've worked on getting DI pieces mostly on my own, and will continue to do so.

All in all, what you're saying is right and the way it should be done to get the entire group further, but it isn't something we can truely consider until doing MC on our own or changing to an overall raid looting system to distribute for the greater good of the group rather than through a division of the group.

I don't see the latter happening since the two group's looting systems are so vastly different and neither wants to transfer and lose their current standing.

Also holding us back though is gear of I'd say 1/3 of the raid consisting of under level green items. I've seen some as low as level 37 green gear. There needs to be some point at which this is cut off if we plan to move forward.

Back when we ran with STNY, there was a rule of all blue, level 50+, I personally believe in this restriction whole heartedly, especially since that is so easy to get. I don't believe I've seen any of our guys that weren't adhering to this though, but if you're ssx and below that, call it out now... people will help you.

I see what you're saying about the problem doing this in an alliance situation. I was thinking more along the lines of every warrior in our guild rolling on the might piece, for example, but if SSX wins the roll, then that piece would preferrably go to our main tank. If the item goes to KoA then, well, there's not much we can do. But we can make the best effort with the situation we're given, if everyone is up for it.

Concerning what you said about people with green items... I would suggest a policy of not allowing our members to roll for a spot in the raid if their gear is not MC-Ready. This gives preference to those that have made the efforts to better their gear for the raid. But, seeing how we have spots open a lot of times, this would rarely be necessary.

These two are making sense hun, don't be too self-sacrificial okie? :)

If people are putting your name forward in this fashion, it's for one reason and one reason only:

They believe in you.
With all the trust and friendship that implies, you already know it's to help you guys progress, two strong primary tanks is what MC mostly needs, with a reasonable set of others to help out.

This idea of focused loot even extended on into BWL for us, though you need only use it as long as you feel you need to.

those shoulders of yours for example, badly need to be replaced :p

Reqs' idea is a good one, and gutka hit the nail right on the head, you will need another tank at a similar ish level.

Perhaps not other people passing items onto you in it's purist sense (unless they have no problems with it) but form some guide line I dunno, but whatever you guys do do, remember you are in complete control of it, and all you guys have to do is talk it out with everyone and you'll be fine, they all know they can object so it shouldn't be a problem.

i say this is a good point since lots of KOA's memebers are wearing lots of green thats below lvl 50....if you guys talk to KOA and say that only people with blue with lvl 50+ in almost all slots, they will bring better geared people....just look at some of their mages, some dont' have the lvl 55 water, how lazy can u get to not get that??? their mages don't even have their blue set pieces which are easy to get since almost every group wants a mage to go into the instances....as u all know, i don't play my mage much and i have 7/8 mage set...so i know it's not hard to get...

i have noticed some of the gears they were are pretty bad....consider the fact that everyone in ssx are always running instances to get their blue set pieces while the koa people are lvling up their alts instead of running the same instances to get better prepared for mc raids....

i also noticed that their fire res gear is subpar too ....for casters and healer's it's okay to have less fire res gear cause they are at max range, but their melee is lacking in fire res gear too which is very very disappointing....i mean if they don't have fire res gear, fine, but at least bring the greater fire res pots that they can drink when raid leaders say put on ur fire res gears.....

anyways, just a thought....

I agree about funneling the set items to Magdelena. If SSX wins the rolls the pieces should go to our #1 MT and then #2 MT should #1 already have it. The hunters are doing something similar for Mark, but this is the first he's heard of it. ;)

I think the problem with KoA is they seem to be bringing in alternates left and right in an effort to get loot. While I see a few familiar names each raid, there are too many new people each time. We should definately have some sort of equipment requirement for entrance into the raid. That'll mean we're going to have to step up too and get our new 60s geared up too.

getting the new lvl 60s geared up isn't the hard part...it really isn't as there are always runs that people are doing or willing to do...let's just talk last nite..i believe there was a strat run last nite..there could have been multiple runs last nite...it all depends on if the people are proactive or not...yes most of the oldies have fun the same instances over and over...and have no problems running them for gearing up the new lvl 60s....the question is are the new lvl 60s willing to go and get gears or are they tired of those instances already....

personally, i ran so much scholo, estrat, wstrat, ubrs, lbrs that i am sick to death of them..but i am willing to go when asked as some of the guildies know.....anyways, it's just my 2 cents....

Being nominated to be next on getting di is an honor... but i would gladly pass anything to mag unless she has it because it's important that the MT is geared... to me it's no big deal.. as thus i will be making the di shoulders for her... which i shold've done a while back since the mats are so cheap and you can easily 2man incendius... i've thought the purpose of the guild back and the things in it was to better the guild... and i hope mag uses them to make the items... but that is my opinion... about getting the new 60's geared... i hope if they want to do something to get their armor sets or something good... i.e. dm has many goodies... to suggest it when there are a good amount of people online... or to set up blue man raids again... which i've stopped a while back because of school etc. i'd be glad to try to set them up...again... anyways this is a bit off topic from the original purpose of this thread
